Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

It will not expand much with BLO.
There are a few things that could be done, but you run the risk of damaging the finish.
I was just trying something I saw in a post a while back. I don't expect much to happen.

Arisaka Dovetail

I have a Type 38 with a very dry and shrunk stock. I was able to take out all the screws holding it together and the butt just slid right apart. Right now I am soaking the joint in BLO in order to try to expand the wood back into place. It may take a while. http://i.imgur.com/SmISLmQ.jpg http://i.im...

Re: Your worst nighmare gunshow find

Some idiot in town hung his pistol on the coat hook when he was taking a dump at the local show and it went off putting a bullet in himself.

Re: What Model Berthier Is This?

Pictures are small but it looks like a Mle1890 carbine that was updated by having the ramrod slot filled in and the extended magazine added. The front band looks like it came from a M1 carbine or something like that.

Re: Any thoughts on these rifles

Carcano is a M91/24 TS missing the cleaning rod. I have 2 of them myself.
The Dutch Carbine is missing a slab of wood that attached to the side of the magazine.

Only reason he shot him was because he made fun of Tim Hortons.
