Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Back out primers are low pressure. The Carcano firing pin is adjustable. If the dent looks to be too deep, back it off.
Gotcha so I'll just up the charges and see from there. I'll see what the ppu 139gr are running and I'll try to replicate the velocity on my loads

reloading 6.5 carcano

I have been reloading 6.5 carcano rounds and i had a box of ppu 6.5 carcano 139gr FMJ. The factory rounds werent having any issues but some of my reloads were having the primers back out and had one that got punctured. Is this because my loads are too light or too hot? My loads were all in published...

Re: lee 6.5 carcano

In my experience with Lee dies I've found them to be cheaper both made and price wise but. may not be exactly what you ordered? Recently ordered a set of Lee's for a .455 Webley and their shell holder wouldn't fit the shell heads? Contacted them and was told they'd send another, never relieved the ...

Re: 24th series Kokura Type 38

The bolt does not match on mine. Cleaning rod and sling are repros I think. 4064 is my go to powder for all my vintage military rifles. Varget is also very good. Regards Marty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've got about 6 pounds of 4064 (im trying to get a nice supply of it) and about 2 pound...

Re: 24th series Kokura Type 38

I have its twin, same series. I've used both 140 gr. and 120 gr. bullets with 3031 powder. 3031 is a good common powder up here in Canada, do the bolts match on the rifle? mine does and i believe the cover does too, its a very faint number on the cover. Mine i got here in Canada for 450 with bayone...

Re: Swiss Rifles @ Gander

Thats a great price, a few years ago in Canada (at least in my area) k31's and the older k11 and g1911 rifles were going for about 280-300 canadian. Now i have no idea if people took of their blindfolds or what but youd be lucky to get them for 700 or below. The quality and craftsmanship is insane o...

Re: 24th series Kokura Type 38

looks like a gorgeous stock and seems to shoot very well. Its a shame that the mum is gone. even one with the circle stamps is preferable to that botch job. At least in my opinion.

What loads were you shooting out of it? factory or handloads?

lee 6.5 carcano

I have a set of Lee precision 6.5 Carcano dies that i recently purchased and the exterior of the dies doesnt look bad but the upper section of the sizing die has nasty machine marks all over the cut outs where a wrench would go. When i saw this i was worried about the interior of the dies but my wor...

Re: Reloading dies for 7.5 swiss

Alright so the Lee dies are a no go for the gewehr 1911. I wasn't aware there was that large of a difference in chamber sizes since both the 1911 and k31 used standard gp11 ammo. Thanks for the heads up.

Reloading dies for 7.5 swiss

I'm going to start reloading 7.5x55 for my gewehr 1911 and am wondering about die selection. Will the 7.5 swiss Lee die set be sufficient for the task? The reason I ask is I noticed Hornady I believe has 2 die sets for the 7.5x55 marked just 7.5 swiss (for rifle not revolver) and then another set fo...

Re: m1917 rifle

You have the rifle I am looking for. I intend to find one after I recover, which should be 2 months. Recoil is neither greater nor less than most military rifles of that era You definitely are right about that. In Canada they are usually 1000 and up. The recoil just irritates my shoulder. Still a b...
