Re: Different front sight heights?

but it shoots some six inches above point of aim. Always shot high for some reason. if it always shot high before you got it, and he couldn't adjust it out with the rear sight, then it is possible that whoever owned that Garand before him might have filed down the front sight post. now, I don't kno...

Re: Serial number and barrel date

I have a HRA Garand where the receiver is made in Feb 1954 (coming up on it's 64th birthday). but the barrel, also made by HRA, is stamped /-54. which I'm figuring it's 7-54 (july 1954), the 7 wasn't a solid strike. could be a lot of wartime barrel were made before the receivers, but that doesn't ho...

Re: My AR Pistol

nice set up. but if you want to REALLY "bleach fire" and NOISE. take off the AR flash hider and put on a AR15 AK74 style brake on it. you will get 3 huge fire balls coming out of it. the noise and shock wave coming out of it, cranks that up to 11 :D http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL1715/11951772/...

Re: Cold enuff for you?

the coldest I have experienced was when I was stationed in Korea, -10 to -20 was pretty much the norm when the Siberia winds comes sweeping down the peninsula, anything above 0 degrees was a heat wave during the winters there. it wasn't unusual for the diesel in the vehicles to gel, if you didn't pu...

I wonder if insurance companies pay when some one looses a brand new truck at the bottom of a lake.
I seriously doubt it, insurance companies aren't in the habit of paying out morons doing stupid things.

Re: Rust.

I wouldn't be all too concern of trying to save whatever bluing maybe under the rust. a M1 carbine magazine isn't like somkind of ancient artifact, or that bluing affects the function of the magazine. just remove the rust, ie. steel wool, sandpaper etc... and either coat the mag with a thin coat of ...

so what? it's their item they can ask anything they want for it. doesn't mean you have to buy it.

don't understand this fetish of folks finding things at super high prices and just have to show it off.

Re: Price check on an M1903

OK, let me get this straight, you're going to take a run of the mill M1903A3 then make it into something it never was; an A4, and you're against putting a commercial C stock on it? OK, don't understand your thinking on that. no matter which way you slice, or how you slice it, it's still going to be ...
