Re: Bullet size for Martini-Henry

When I bought my Martini dies, which were made by NDFS in England I found that the neck sizing die just didn't make the neck small enough unless you were going to paper patch. What worked was to buy a Lee neck sizing, decapping die in 458 Winchester and sacrifice it by cutting off a portion from the...

++ on the military brass, even the starting level on the 308 specs may be too high. Specs for 150 gn jacketed bullet using 3031 are 40 gn starting. I had to bring this down to 33 gn just so I could extract the casing from the chamber on my 1968 2A1 Ishapore.

Re: Where did Military Surplus Collectors Forum go?

I started on Milsurps forum, but when a reloading question came up I flat did not like the way it was handled or I was treated. Found this forum and never darkened that site again.

Re: Converting .348 Win to 10.4mm Italian Vetterli

Mark, When I was expanding necks and needed to really expand to almost the case size I went to C&H 4 D. they will make tapered expanding inserts and with along with their holder work really well. In some cases I had to have 3 tapered inserts made, just tell them what diameter you want to start with ...

Re: 1945 Star Model B I have been around the block...

Here is a link to the Star site that has information on production and other markings. I have a model B with a serial of 232048. I believe the ones that were made under Germany were also marked with a 1908 on the side to indicate it fired 9mm Lugar, which corresponded to the date the Lugar was intro...

Re: Colt Lightning double action, doesn't

Here is a source for the springs, best to get a complete set for $25.00. I have 2 of these a Lightning and Thunder. I have worked on both and got them working, had to make my own sear for the lightening model.
