Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: How to do an Aged Oil Finish

nice tutorial. for birch i would recommend a 50:50 shellac/methyl alcohol sealer(spit) coat prior to staining. birch has a real nasty habit of staining splotchy due to open pores. the spit coat will seal these and allow nice even stain penetration. after the sealing coat just give it a quick rub wi...

Re: Arisaka Dovetail

It will help some, but as long as you have a good secure but plate it will stay in places. You can secure it without altering the stock. This is achieved by using a small wedge of wood to fill the gap. Most of the time you can use a toothpick or two. You just have to be careful and not crack the sto...

Re: Hand guard Repair

Bobvz has got you covered. Here aer tips when using an epoxy past as Bobvz described. The sanding dust should be made with 150 or higher grit sand paper. This will give you a smoother paste. Use small plastic cups to hold your sanding dust. Matching your paste to the stock is not hard. You will need...

It will not expand much with BLO.
There are a few things that could be done, but you run the risk of damaging the finish.

Re: Why would anyone want an Enfield

Would you believe that I have another one of these ugly sticks coming? I bought it about a year ago and kept forgetting to send FFL info. Hopefully it will be here in a week or two along with a stock set to finish restoring a No4 Mk1.

Re: Camillus mk2 knife with USMC provenence

A nice piece of history and one that can be passed down for many years. I carried one for years and even during the war, Desert Storm. I'll pass it down to one of my kids one day. That's awesome! I had the honor of serving in 1/7 in the 1990's: The Magnificent 7th has one of the proudest legacies of...

Replacement stock and apparently a few other parts, but price was right!! :) Just about every US rifle that was sold by the US government was re arsenaled. When this was done any part that was worn , damaged or broken was replaced. No reguard was given to the manufacturer of parts that were replace...

Re: 7.62x54r chamber insert to shoot 7.62x25?

The chamber insert that you speak of was very popular when 7.62x25 was dirt cheap. There was a member on a forum that used his for rabbit hunting with his Mosin. Your rifle. Is pretty much a single shot with it. There were others that bought them for their kid so that they could shoot Mosins without...

M38 with correct sling

Back in 2009 a friend and I drove out to Moss Point MS. to check out a gun shop called Guns & Ammo. My friend told me that they always had some really cool stuff and sometimes had some really good deals. Well you talk about a treat to visit this little shop. They had just about everything you could ...

Re: A pair of Polish Wifama kbks wz.78 trainers

I picked up one a few years back and only took it to the range once. It has been a safe queen. I plan to retire in 3 to 4 years and think I will be spending some time on the range with it.

The MP 43/44/Stg 44 is a nice family of weapons. I have all 3. My shooter is an MP 43 bought from the vet who brought it home, and papered it in the 68 amnesty. Here is the heard + some parts and accessories. Well I guess not, I don't seem to be able to figure out how to post photos on this??? Sarg...
