Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: FR8

The bayo came with the rifle when I got it. I never really got into obtaining bayonets for the various rifles. I always figured I could use the money to buy more rifles. Since I've run out of room in the house for rifles, maybe I should start looking for proper bayonets for all the different rifles...

Re: Just some pictures to brighten up the place!

They are one of my favorites to shoot as well.
Regularly shoot my eddystone in service rifle events.

Yours is a gem

Re: Brazilian M954 Mauser

It is sort of a mix of K98k and Gew 98 but it feels well balanced.

Its going to the range next week end and we will see how it goes.

It has a cracking crest on the receiver

Brazilian M954 Mauser

Recently I spotted this rifle on the racks at the local dealer. I never seen one before other than in pictures and the price was right so it eventually made it back home with me. Its all matching numbers, bore is crisp. Wood work is very good and the metal work is great, parkerised dark green. It lo...

Re: My fall into South American Mausers

Nice rifles, OAC. I'm a fan of the SA Mausers myself. If you have to fall into something, you could do alot worse than South American Mausers. x2 they seem to have an aurora about them. Very old school design with most of them have beautiful crests on the receivers which you don't find on later mod...

Re: USMC rebuild Garand ("O-66")

Very nice rifle. Unfortunately here in Oz Semi auto anything is heavily restricted. Very few opportunities to hold one let alone shoot it.

The bore gauge in the first picture, never seen one like it. Who manufactures/sells them?

Cheers

I think C and Arsenal is a wonderful resource. He covers a lot of great rifles, and it's easier for some folks to wrap their heads around some of the history when it is being dictated. I wish my girlfriend would handle my rifles like Mae.

They are a great resource

Re: Swiss Photo Thread

Cool Vandle. Nice rifle. I like the P series. That swiss soldier liked his rifle so much he let it follow him home. Thats how I got most of mine or so I tell Mrs grouchy. (it followed me home, honest!) I don't have a K 31 private series but do have a 1911. I think I bought it off this board a ...

Re: Is this worth wasting my time for??

If anything it gives you practice on doing this type of repair and if it doesn't work out then nothing is lost except a little time.
Maybe Candyman can give a few tips here

Re: FN1922 Brazilian Carbine

Hi DWM

The bore is very dark and frosty.
I have seen better but will be taking it out on the range next week
and see if putting a few rounds through it makes a difference.

Have scrubbed the bore with solvent but only slight improvement.
I'm not expecting miracles.

Cheers
