Congrates on your aquisition

The 31 will be the year that the rifle was retired from active service.
all of mine have these various dates on the receiver.
Check to see if you have the letter P stamped next to it.

I think there aren't as many shooters and more collectors because the shooters are buying Ruger Americans and Savage Axis rifles now I tend to agree, especially over in OZ, most surplus rifles prices are beyond what alot of people can afford Your Rugers and Savages are alot cheaper these days. Only...

The pouch was modfied by adding wooden blocks to support the GP90 6 Round Clips.
Loose rounds were carried in the loops on the front of the pouch.

Swiss Ammo Pouch

Stumbled across this leather Swiss Ammo pouch

Manufactured in 1887 for use with their Vetterlis, they were later modified to hold the GP90 6 round clips for the 1889 Straight Pull

Im a little partial to the Swiss Brigade.

We have just converted some Veterlli's to centre fire as well. They are a wonderful rifle to shoot.
