Re: Greetings

Yes, welcome (back) to SRF - we've all started fresh again so this is a great time to jump in and get some conversations and pictures going. Sounds like you have a nice USGI collection. I keep thinking that I should have a Krag - what year is yours (since you said you had one of each)?

Re: Rust.

If you're at all worried about using actual steel wool, I would highly recommend checking these out. They work great. #0000 Super Fine Synthetic Steel Wool Pads - any home improvement store should have them. https://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-2-in-x-4-in-0000-Super-Fine-Synthetic-Steel-Wool-Pads-6-Pack-...

Re: CMP 1911 email

Personally, they would need to be under $600 before I would have a strong interest. It will be interesting to see how many grades they decide to offer.

Re: CMP 1911 email

I got the email from them, but also my state rifle/pistol association sent it out to all members. Sounds like their trying to be "PC" with the No C&R business and the two NICS checks. It seems like there are a few more hoops to go through but overall it may be more fair using their Random Number app...

In the condition you describe, it still sounds like he got a pretty good deal.

Re: A couple more of my old rifles.

Nice rifles - my first milsurps were Enfields. They're fun rifles to shoot - a must for any collection.
