Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: The free/gift Jam-O-Matic .22.

11-06-2018 Well It took a while, but Im happy I did budget in a couple new springs for the 552 project. The bolt return spring was a surprise! The new spring was 1.5-2" shorter than the old spring!? Ok That was strange but makes sense, the fellow that had this .22 refinished it and then tried to ma...

Re: The free/gift Jam-O-Matic .22.

Re: The free/gift Jam-O-Matic .22.

04-25-2018 Well living in town can be a real drag, if you want to test your .22 you cant just step out the door and fire a few rounds to check function. I brought it out 3 days ago, loaded ten rounds and cycled the first round, which jammed, the second as jammed well, the third chambered and failed...

Re: The free/gift Jam-O-Matic .22.

09-26-2017 Well I opened it back up and did find some minor burrs on the bolt guide thatd been there a long time, I lightly touched them up using some swiss files I have, there is a faint firing pin booger on the chamber rim as well (the cause of sticking cartridges) of which I will eventually have...

The free/gift Jam-O-Matic .22.

This tale of a free .22 a 1971 era Remington model 552 .22 S/L/LR and the long road to making it fire semi-automaticly or to even fire as a single shot! I hope after reading this you will learn many things from my mistakes. First off, I have no formal gunsmith training, so my novice mistakes will b...

Re: MAS .308 conversions

The replacement adjustable gas valve adjusts with a allen wrench, is supposed to be a very close fit.
The fella making them sells them for $40 thats including the $1 postage.
I sent off my postal money order snail mail and in about 2.5 weeks the new valve arrived!

MAS 49/56 adjustable gas valve.

My procrastination had cost me a couple chances to aquire an adjustable gas valve for my Century 7.62 converted MAS 49/56 in the past. Like the converted 20 round FAL magazines. So this time after some foot dragging I had a lead on a adjustable gas valve and Id better not pass this by! It arrived to...

Re: MAS .308 conversions

It seems like $38 plus postage would be one the fixes my Century 49/56 needs.
Then the extractor and recoil spring.
I noticed one end looks cut
Is there a bolt buffer for the MAS?

Re: Gun Shows: When Did Our World Go Nuts?

Gun shows are a great source for metric military ammunition and possibly stuff like gun rugs and slings, holsters. Actual firearms? Even in Northern Kansas the pricese are insane! To hold a gunshow in the midwest and they know its mostly attended by middle class folks with bills, motgages anf famili...
