Re: CZ 52 problem??????????????

What he said. :) I wanted one since the mid 80s when I first read about them. They looked cool and I really like the caliber. At the time they were rare here in the states and thus expensive. The few I saw were 400 + and way out of my price line. I never thought I'd own one then the wall cam down an...

Why did Yugoslavia shorten the German k98 stocks on the front end?

Just what it says, Why did Yugoslavia shorten the German k98 stocks on the front end by 1/2 inch? I have a Czech dou 43 mod 98. Someone here got to it well before me and cut the buttstock for a recoil pad. They didn't stop there. They removed the bolt takedown discs and filled the cutout for the sli...

Pretty cool rifle and book.
Was the book available locally or just for government use?

Re: CZ 52 problem??????????????

You might want to make the slide is clear of debris and burnt powder.. Alex has nos catches without the thumb release. I found this new made one, old stock on ebay. Harrington see,s to have stopped making them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-CZ52-Pistol-Slide-Release-Lever/202753940160?hash=item2f3513...

Re: CZ 52 problem??????????????

Part 19, the slide catch. There was a company offering newly made replace, ents with a thumb release. It was a direct swap out. Might want to get that and maybe one of the new made firing pins. Word is the originals are brittle. So no dry firing. And dont trust the decocker either. Otherwise they are...

Re: New, from Oklahoma

Welcome to the board. To aid your quest look up empirearms.com They travel buying collections and hitting gun shows all over the country. They send out email s listing what's new before posting the leftover on their site. Their stuff sells quick. They also off a "wish list". Tell them what you are l...

Re: So you want to un-bubba a Model 1917. A parts list.

I did the rescue restore as there was no way I could drop 700 bucks on an original rifle. Plus I had fun searching for the right candidate and making parts lists. I made lots of lists. :) And I went new wood over spending big $$$ on original. An easy tell if the barrel has been bobbed is if the gap ...

Re: So you want to un-bubba a Model 1917. A parts list.

It really wouldn't be that difficult if you find one that has been cutdown. Its the wood work that would get tricky. But again not too difficult.
Only hard part would be mounting the front sight. As that would require turning the barrel down a few thousandths. Q
