According to my Type 99 book by Don Voigt he states Jan. 1944 to 1945 . Reported Ser.# range 64- 40,999. Hope this helps in some way. Mine is ser# 147xx

See if Nurmich Gun Parts has a schematic of the rifle then look at their parts prices before investing if you are trying to put it back as a military configuration. Auction sites usually have them in the $600 - $700 range as complete. The stock will probably be your big expense.

Excellent rifle. I was fortunate to get the 1935 long rifle. This Mauser at its finest in the 1930's production.

The story I heard on the No Blues was the metal finish got messed up during a cleaning process after they were shipped to the U.S.
