Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: What model of Swiss?

Of the Swiss rifles and carbines I have in the collection, the M1911 long rifle is my favorite, hands down. It has the best trigger pull and is just scary accurate at 800 yards.
The quality of the rifle is first rate. You'd be very happy with one.

Re: PAINTED BULLETS

Many of us here make and shoot Powder Coated bullets. They work very well and can be pushed close to jacketed rifle bullet velocities. Easy to do and cheap if you shop around for the powder.

Re: Your never too old to learn....She made my day.

I went back to her home and we talked about .22 rifles. I brought an old Remington 512 single shot rifle that has a youth stock. I instructed her on how to safely hold and shoot it. At 25 yards she shot it as well as most of my club members could. That impressed me. She asked me what my first .22 wa...

Re: BORE SCOPES

I have one of the inexpensive bore scopes. They work well enough to really check the bore of a rifle. You MUST make sure your smart phone can turn them on. Your phone must have a powered jack. Do not use the provided "free" software. It is full of Trojans. There are several free software sites that ...

Re: US ARMY USING BB GUNS

when I was a kid running around the firing ranges at Ft.Meade,MD in the early 60's I saw the soldiers doing what they called " Train Fire" if my memory serves me, where they did use BB guns at targets thrown in the air as well as pop-up. Years later while in the Navy a few of us bought the same type...

Re: Remmington Mosin questions

All the parts match. The rifle is as new. Perhaps a 1920's 3 buck surplus sales. He paid 450 for it.

Re: READY TO LAP

I started doing this in the 70's and the results have always been very good. An older gunsmith I knew while on active duty, had one other trick in his sleeve. He would drill a hole at a 45 degree angle though the side of the bullet exiting in front of the base of the bullet. Far enough from the base...

Re: Remmington Mosin questions

Yes, I know the history, just not the mentioned markings. The owner is pumped as he may have bought a valuable rifle from some research he has done.

Re: m1917 rifle

If the rifle is "Kicking the crap out of you" ...you are holding it wrong. I shoot my M1917 hundreds of times a year as do other of my clubs members and recoil is not a problem. You want to pull the rifle tightly and squarely up against the pocket of your shoulder. If you do not it will "kick" and b...

Remmington Mosin questions

At our gun show this past weekend a fiend of mine picked up a Remington made Mosin Nagant rifle. I know the history of the WW1 contract and use by our troops at the end of the war, but have a question about markings. On the underside of the wrist of the stock there are several marks that appear to b...

Re: VZ-52 SHE

The larger bullets did much much better than you'd think. Groups were noticeably smaller at 300 yards. I think using a larger than .310 bullet will really improve everyone's accuracy.
