If you can find a shot out 8MM Siamese Mauser bolt action, You could open up the bolt face a little and have a fine single shot rifle.

I converted a smokeless powder Remington Rolling Block rifle to .50 Alaskan. No problems with pressures what so ever. What range makes you own a 2 MOA rifle to shoot 400 yards? Bullets are not stable until they travel 200 yards. 99% of all military rifles are 4 MOA by design. The M1917 is very pleasant to shoot. The M1903 can be painful depending on the stock type.
