Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Survival Situation
I love the M1. Any weapon in a shtf scenario is better than none. It's not what I would pick in advance. My interests are sport shooting but zombie prep is a fun topic. Even in restricted states there are many options that will serve. If its defense, a shotgun/pistol combo is tough to beat in the ho...

Thanks. This was always one of my favorite watering holes. It's a shame so much great history was lost but I see a lot of the old members and great posters are here so I expect it will soon repopulate as a great reference.

Re: Polytech SKS Hunter Question
You can do a lot of magic with repairs but where that stock broke and the way it is splintered, I don't think there is a reliable fix. Even coring it with a strong dowel I don't see enough wood on the receiver end to mate the two pieces. i would think your best best is looking for a replacement stoc...

Re: m44 stock question
Only wood i know that gets those greenish streaks is poplar but that was not a gunstock wood. The predominant woods for russian stocks was birch and beech. Realize that those stocks have a long history and who knows what finishes, chemicals etc have affected the wood. I would not recommend sanding i...

Re: Walmart says 21 to buy a long gun
First, as FOR PROFIT entities, corporations should not be political or social justice machines. Sure there are a few examples where companies did some good, but that is not their role. Sadly, our law treats them as people with constitutional rights which is just wrong and the root of many problems t...

Re: Academy Awards.
It's not guns that are the cause of everything, its China. See, guns use bullets, which are propelled by smokeless powder. Now powder was evolved from gunpowder, which was invented by the Chinese. Little did we know that China was strategically making fireworks to screw up American society 1400 year...

Re: Finally got my first Garand!
Enjoy it. Every american collector should have one. Its a classic and fun to shoot. Great advice about not using regular 30-06. The adjustable plug is a nice to have too.
Its an easy round for reloading and I think the CMP still sells a bunch of M2 ball spec ammo at decent prices.

I'll second or third that. Todd is a great guy, fellow collector and forum member/sponsor. I've bought from him online and ftf in Ohio.
He will give you a very detailed and accurate description and carries really nice stuff.

Re: Finnish M-91 B barrels
The Finns are great and my favorite of the 7.62x54R family of rifles. My B-barrel is a great shooter and I love the purple tint of the bluing.

Re: Swedish Carl Gustafs M/41B sniper rifle
Great new direction. It's hard to beat a swede and the M41 snipers are great. It's a softer shoot than the mosins and a great rifle for reloading.

It's great stuff. I'm glad to see you still making your WWII magic formula.
I'm also just back to the forum after the big crash. I wish you another good decade and more.

Hello gang.
Hello everyone. I wanted to say hello again and am glad I was able to recreate my old userid.
I had some trouble doing that back when the site went down.
I look forward to meeting members old and new again.
