Re: M94 Swede Redemption Project

An old timer down here had a stock that he refused to let go of no matter how often I pestered. After returning from an extended vacation in the Middle East, I went looking for him, again. Unfortunately he had passed away and all his gun stuff had been sold off.

The 170s are Sierra #1950. The 153 (as measured) are Spanish surplus.

Re: Reloading older Spanish 1893s and or Rolling Blocks in 7mm?

I've had good results in my 1893s with 170 grain, RN, flat base. They measured .284. Even better was some 153 grain spitzers that measured .287.

The dings match up perfectly with the rear of the firing pin.

Pressure control for the 1895 conversions would make sense. For M1912 conversions, Hmmmm.....?

Haven't checked mine, but possible it's a typical, loose, military chamber?

Etching

Works pretty darn good. Salt water & vinegar, DC power adapter. End result shown before cleanup.

Re: M1917 or SMLE?

You want a shooter. You are in the U.S. 30-06 is everywhere and easily reloaded due to component availability. 303, not so much, but doable. Get the M1917. Aftermarket/sporter stocks (but, do no harm) are out there. Can easily swap out original furniture for hunting season. In addition, I believe M1...
