Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

The base installed without a hitch, followed the online video instructions. Base is very well made, fit and finish are really b...

Re: 7.55 swiss 175smk?

Thanks again, I'll try that with other bullets I want to test. I, shot, 2, 5 shot groups today of the 20 loaded earlier, shot a 3" and 2.5" group. Then I screwed the pooch, tried the St.Marie accurizing trick of balancing or optimizing the tang screw torque. Next ten shots barely stayed on a sheet o...

Re: 7.55 swiss 175smk?

Ammolab, thanks for the input. Without the proper modified case, I ran a Swiss case through the expander of a 7.62X39 to open the mouth up and allow a bullet to move with some resistance. Chambered this modified and smoked cartridge and took measurements till the faintest rifling marks on bullet. Lo...

Re: 7.55 swiss 175smk?

So, shot 3" group at 100yrds. I have not shot Iron Sights in a loooong time so I am happy with the Group. Tried some 168smk's 4' group the sun was going down. I'll shoot some more tomorrow.

7.55 swiss 175smk?

I have not shot this rifle in over 10 years, and I can't find my old notes and load data. So looked in the Sierra manual found some load data and this is what I loaded: 175smk 48.5 H4831, coal 3.051. using resized and fire formed .284 brass. I painted the ogive to get in idea of where I am at. When ...

Re: Spurs

Not a cowboy or live in cowboy country but do appreciate the craftsmanship in the pics. I have an old workmate that is a hobby blacksmith. One of the things he likes to make are spurs, he has a nice collection of antique spurs he uses these as inspiration for his designs. Neat guy he makes most of h...

I too wish I purchased one. I always meant too. But being a rifle loony, I always had a rifle project that took $$$ priority.

Hello from from the Ouachitas

New to the site and a novice surplus rifle owner. Years ago I picked up a K31 and a M/N M44, have not played with them much though.
Hoping to pick up some insight on the above rifles.
