Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 47 Izhevsk 91/30

That is quite comical to me.
The one thing I want to know about, and some Russian Factory worker is probably laughing in the afterlife because it remains a mystery to me haha.

Re: 47 Izhevsk 91/30

What is the date on the receiver tang?
Curious if they ever rebarreled rebuilt guns like the Fin's were so apt to do?

Let us know if you can :)

Re: Polytech SKS Hunter Question

Sadly I need a Hunter Stock. I dropped it off at a gunsmith to see what kind of magic he can work.
Fingers crossed it comes out half decent. Just saw that one went on gunbroker in November for $905

Could hardly believe that.

Re: Australian Enfield Mark 111 Lithgow rifle markings

Hey Indy 1919A4, Thanks for the heads up, I havent checked SOG for a bit and my google game must not of been strong!

I used to do a lot of reenacting in the Indianapolis area. Next month I have to go down to work on a friends White M3A1 Scout car for an Eastern Front Event at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

Re: Australian Enfield Mark 111 Lithgow rifle markings

I just picked up my first MK III* and it is a 1941 Lithgow. Apart from surplus and rolling your own, any input on the best ammunition available for it. Seems local gun show guys like to talk about the 1000's of rounds they have hoarded away but not about selling any. My only box is from 1942 and Win...

Re: Polish Wz-48 barrel removal

Excellent write up for us WZ-48 owners! I am actually suprised some are still sitting on the market. I can't imagine Poland made that many of them and every Mosin owner should have one ;)

JW-15 or ????

So I've had this old rifle for a spell, no import mark, no model number. As far as I can tell it's a JW-15 or some variant there of from China. Now JW-15 rifles seem to be a hard bear to get information on. The only other one I've handled had a Made In China and Norinco stamp, it had the same magazi...

I understand that. When I was younger I committed the Mosin stuff to memory, but I wasn't married and more bored and idle then haha

Re: Polytech SKS Hunter Question

That's how I feel. I used to be big into woodworking but as splintered as this stock is, and it's unique Finnish, I feel like I would be disappointed and selling it anyway with a botched repair job that couldn't be undone.

Re: Picked up 1903 Mk1

Someday I'll have to commit to memory American stock marks and what is correct. Until then I'll live in a mauser and mosin paradise.

Re: Remington 03A3

Love seeing on brought back from the hands of bubba! A question for some of the more learned members, As far as replacement barrels went, were the companies making rifles during the war making barrels at the same time just for future refurb? The reason I ask is in case I run into another 03A3, I not...
