Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

New to the site and a novice surplus rifle owner. Years ago I picked up a K31 and a M/N M44, have not played with them much though.
Hoping to pick up some insight on the above rifles.
Hello and welcome. Beautiful area down there. We ride the motorcycles often in Arkansas.

Nah, I am done collecting. Health getting worse. Going to sell mine soon so my wife doesn't have to. It is at the Parsons, Kansas Gold and Silver Pawn shop. Contact them if you are interested.

Re: Tag read Austrian made Mosin?

If I am not mistaken it looked like this. No sling, no cleaning rod IIRC. Stock was darker but in decent shape.https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=ZDnKRggo&id=72A5E29336333AD44F9C9196C4C273C407317D30&thid=OIP.ZDnKRggoUhouGUg5TiWa6wHaBH&mediaurl=http%3a%2f%2fpictures.gunauction.com%...

Tag read Austrian made Mosin?

Was browsing one of my local pawn shops today and ran across a different looking Mosin. The tag read that it was an Austrian made Mosin 91. The light was not good enough to read the writing on the receiver. It looked like an early Century import marked on the left side of the receiver? Some place in...

Re: Sharing: My 1911.

I have not done one for years now and I believe a lot of the parts from Sarco have dried up. Frames can still be had for around $200. If you can get the parts kit from Sarco somewhere north of $400 probably.http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/451911autobuildkitlessframeandslide.aspxJust checked this. Makes it...

Re: Opioid problem

I spent 20 years in the Army in a combat MOS, god my body went through hell and back, I was surprised that the only big issue I have is arthritis in my shoulders and hearing loss , but I bet everyone that was ever in a combat MOS also suffer from hearing loss True. More than two decades in Mortars....

Re: Finn 1891 rifle

The only real thing I have against the MN rifles is the hard to operate bolt compared to the smooth action of say, an Enfield or a nice Mauser.

The two stocks are different in other ways, too. Like where the sling slots are. I will have to post a picture, maybe tomorrow.

Different stock length on 91/30s.

In cleaning some of my rifles last evening I (finally) noticed that the stock and handguard on one of my 91/30s is about one inch shorter than another right below it. Is this a common thing and what could be the reason? Fixing a damaged stock during re-arsenal is my guess but I just don't know.

Re: FN49 Venezualen contract in 7mm.

Just was looking for more serial #s. Rear of bolt? is marked 944. There is no marking on the receiver cover and no import mark on the barrel. Trying to watch the GA/OK game so don't want to disassemble it any further right now.
