Mine likes the round nose Sierra hunting bullets in 220 grain. I also have some 180 gr. round nose, but haven't shot them yet. Mine is a Remington sporter with the original barrel, and I hadn't had much luck in getting it to group well. I heard they do better with the flat base round nose bullets b...

Every one I've seen for under 700 bucks was a "low number" rifle that I wouldn't shoot. You got a great price.....

I've shot those many years ago when I could get them cheap, and they were wicked. That core would separate from the jacket and follow the contour of the ground digging a trough as it went. I wish I could get them now!

I shoot 220 grain Sierras in mine and it does much better. I tried 150 and 180 grain Spitzers and they didn't group well. After I read that some m1917 barrels have a too generous throat and shoot better with longer flat based bullets, I gave it a try. My first time out with my 220gr reloads I got 1...
