Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

I don't know how to explain this but look at the last of this where the winner had a time of .599.

Re: BLACK POWDER

I just saw this, it may help, http://survival-manual.com/gunpowder.php in case you are unaware of the alcohol infusion part. Except for his Step # 8 – why on earth he would throw away some of his dissolved potassium nitrate, I don’t know. I see this quite often in a lot of the different ways of maki...

Re: JUST FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

I couldn't figure out how I would sharpen a chisel with it, conveniently, so yes I use it just for knives. I have made an assortment of chisel sharpeners. But, I can use those for knives also, right? :)

DSC_0055.JPG These pliers can be used as bullet pullers – works great...I THINK, no mess like with the inertia type and not as expensive as the collet type...just poke up through the press and grab. The same size should be the size for crimping gas-checks as well. I found out that if the hole or ho...

7.35 AMMO

I have never had any trouble reloading for the 7.35 Carcano. I have always had the Hornaday 128 grain bullets and the original 128 grain bullets. I had bought a LEE 7.35 die set. I had plenty of the original ammo which I bought. The primers went bad, but the powder, bullet and brass were good. And I...

Re: IN PASSING & FWTW

Here is another way that can be used to test steel, or any metal for (RELATIVE) hardness. Make an indentation in two specimens and compare the sizes of the two indentations with a magnaviewer . For the harder metals it may be necessary to removed and replaced the spring with a stronger one. Or it ma...

Here is my diamond indenter – made in China, 12.96 delivered. I have not seen a US made one for less than 200 – do I need a 200 $ indenter – heck no. With this and a piece of 2 x 6, I will make a Rockwell C Hardness Tester.

Re: BLACK POWDER

You say ‘my argument’, I don’t like to argue but yes this is my point of view and...and I see nothing wrong with you having your point of view...’except’ for the part about me and the tree...and then your tree. The only thing that would let me be drawn into a friendly debate of this, is that you sou...

Excellent historical articles on the Minie (probounced as ‘minYAY’ by the way ...) Ball here: http://www.historynet.com/minie-ball What you’re considering with the wooden base was tried back in 1836 ... with excellent results ... but it was NEVER adopted by any military, go figure! ****************...

Re: HIT N' MISS

The best powder to try today would be PB shotgun powder. It is sold in 1/2 pound cans.. It is very fast burning and "may" obdurate the wood plug into the minnie ball base. ********************************************************** Well, the problem the way that I see it is...powder fouling and safe...

HIT N' MISS

I have been thinking about this Minnie Ball design every since I bought the muzzle loader with the idea of the wooden plug being forced into the ball and expanding to scrape the fouling from the previous shot. But I find life too short to do everything that I may wish to do. Anyway, first off...if a...

BLACK POWDER

Subject: BLACK POWDER - FWIW I see where some have been so discouraged with their black powder shooting that they have given up. I think that this may be due to two main reasons. That the makers may have ‘possible’ derated their powder just for safety sake. They may have thought that they wanted to ...

Re: JUST TRIVIA

I have a grandson that just graduated yesterday from Air Force Basic as an E-3, but I think he went in as an E-3. A year ago they offered him a job of setting in a trailer at Nellis AFB in Nevada and flying those drones in the far east but he didn't like that because he would have had to go to fligh...
