Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 1917 Eddystone barrel

If your rifle has a JA (Johnson Automatic) barrel that means it went thru a refurb at some point prior to or during WWII. Consider yourself lucky because the original barrel was considered unfit for service during it's refurb. If the original was still on there it would shoot terrible. This combinat...

Re: Yugo M48 Series?

I love my M48. It has an excellent bore and muzzle crown so it shoots great.
I added a Timney trigger which improved the accuracy greatly over the horrible original Yugo trigger.
I do believe you'll enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine, good luck with it. - Bill

Re: byf 44 P38

The marking on the frame reminds me of the bug stamping used on Mauser made lugers from before WWI.
I know by the Weinmar era that stamping wasn't in use anymore.

Re: byf 44 P38

Sorry I forgot to include the pics of the barrel markings and this unusual stamp underneath the hammer on the frame.
I'm not sure what that marking is as I have never seen one before and I can't find any info on it. - Bill

Re: Unknown German pistol

Perhaps it's a schuetzen pistol. They use them in German bars similar to the way we throw darts.
Here is a picture of one of the rounds next to a .22LR. It's nothing more than a .177 lead BB over a primer. - Bill

Re: byf 44 P38

The top pic in this series shows machining chips that I found in the upper slide area.
The goldish coloring is the lighting, all the chips are silver or blued.
I honestly believe that I was the first person ever to disassemble the pistol to that point since it was made 73 years ago! - Bill

Re: byf 44 P38

You should be careful shooting a WWII P38 can come apart very easily. If you were a member of the original forum there were some posts with picture testifying to this. Do yourself a favor and buy a P1 slide and locking block(I picked these parts from CDNN when I was warned of this) and save your or...

Steve I have the same issues with photobucket. I have been using the image bar from Photobucket and it is work...
