Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: CMP M1 Garand

$730 is a hell of deal for a garand. Look at gunbroker, they go for over $1000 all the time.

Re: Whats in your range bag?

I keep a first aid kit in the truck. Any emergency that I can't fix with that is beyond me and needs and immediate evac. I was in the Army and was trained for some basic stuff but anything more than a tourniquet and bandages requires a hospital. Honestly, the only thing we should be doing is applyin...

Re: Reloading 7.62x54R

You'll be fine shooting .311 through that. I'd start low on the powder charge and keep an eye out for pressure signs.

Re: US M1917 loads?

.311 SMK match king
48gr 4064

My 1917 has a wide bore but it shoots real well with .311 bullets.

Re: M1 garand reloading

My magic load was 155gr SMK Palmas with 47gr of 4064. I do have an adjustable gas plug.

That's some crazy penetration. Do you know what kind of velocity you're getting out of those loads?

Re: Eddystone fixer upper

Nah, when I slugged the bore it ran at .311 so I make my own wildcat rounds. I open up .30-06 brass and stuff a .311 bullet in there. My wildcat .311-06 rounds. The 1917 is accurate with those rounds though and no signs of over-pressure or anything on the brass.

Re: Ar 15 fails wow

#5 is likely case head separation. Gotta inspect your brass. Also, many of those look like squibs or double charges. Gotta be careful with reloads, check and double check everything. I never had an issue with any of my reloads because you gotta be careful.

I've seen more rattlesnakes than I can count having lived in California and Idaho for most of my life. I did see a cobra in Afghanistan once and damn near shot it with my M9 but my buddy was able to talk me out of it.

Re: Tragedy at the local HS.

I've had two friends from my platoon in the Army who killed themselves within the last year. When are we going to do something about this problem and change the stigmas against mental health and improve our mental health systems? I'm not trying to make this political, it spans both parties and every...

It's the typical pre-ban scares that usually follow these tragedies. This stuff is getting pretty old, both the tragedies and the stupid arguments that follow.

Re: Movie Dunkirk

I enjoyed it whether it was 100% period correct or not. I need to watch again and keep an eye out for the details rather than just enjoy the spectacle.
