If the button is square and it should push in easy, and is spring loaded, the rod will just fall out. The cleaning rod is held in by the button latch that hooks onto a notch on the rod. The Type 99 rod does not screw into the stock, rather it just falls down in. Use a coat hanger wire and see if tha...

As for the rod it should be a 24 inch cleaning rod not the late war short rod. I assume the stock is original to the rifle? If the stock was switched it could use the short rod. most likely the button is not releasing due to dirt or rust on that rifle. it should be square. YOU have to push down on t...

He was still active on the 15th of January, so he is still kicking. He's older than dirt and still as sharp as a tack.
He generally comments if the post topic switches off his post. Always interesting stuff from a lifetime of experience & knowledge.

What happened to Zeliard & Candyman ?

Two active members stopped posting. Does anyone know what happen to Zeliard, he stopped posting around Sept 2018 and Candyman stopped around July of 2018? Zeliard was the guy restoring all the lost stickies. Candyman was the stock/wood wizard.
