Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 85,000 plus M-1 Rifles are comming home!

I bet about 60 % will be shot out dogs and the other 40% the CMP will have to rebuild or fix to bring them up to shootable condition. The CMP has got to pay for the shipping, packaging, and loading to get them here, then when they get to the CMP they got to cull out the good ones if any. I'd hate to...

Re: 1962 Surplus ad, what to get if you had 35 bucks

I just picked up a MAS 36 at a show that the wife was selling at cost from 1995. The old guy died and he had $89 on the original century tag. Rifle was still in somewhat hardened cosmo. I got it for $85-- 1995 prices. You got to love gun shows where the wife dumps the old guys treasures because she ...

Re: Big Fond du Lac WI Gun show Sat

Anyone else go to the show. Let us know your comments. Pick anything up? It seemed like a light crowd and not too many buyers, lots of people walking around with hunting rifles to sell. Not many takers. I think people are getting sick of the high prices. It seemed like not too many surplus guys or g...

Re: Big Fond du Lac WI Gun show Sat

It was good because 5 tables were dead collectors stuff being sold at bargain prices by the son, daughter, and wife. Two were huge collections of surplus pistols like 50-80 on 2 tables, one about 30 rifles, and the others surplus rifles and pistols generally at what the former collector paid or abou...

Big Fond du Lac WI Gun show Sat

So for the WI boys and girls the states large show is this Saturday 0800- 5 at the Fond du Lac city fair grounds. This show is always heavy with surplus rifles although prices are going somewhat high of late. I'll be the one with a VZ 24 on my shoulder to sell so I can buy a set of the K98 books. I ...

Re: Webley pellet pistol in Battlefield finish

Bummer , :snooty:  , the Exhibition model came in stock first. And no mention of spare cartridges being offered   So for the few that like a real nasty shine, its now in stock. I do not see these flying off the shelf  But it should shoot better than the BB model, just that it...

Re: My U.S. Krag

How is this barrel?   A nice Krag drill rifle. Perfect for shooting tacks, like a Krag shotgun 8-) And it came with the original sling. I guess you got to tell the Legion they should clean a rifle after firing blanks :violin: IMG_3855.JPG IMG_3848.JPG Not bad for a $200 Krag :t...

If I still worked at the college I could photo copy it free on a high quality printer that produced copies better than the original.   Its listed under research and grant development. But those days are gone. Re: Help! I had a D'oh moment

:?: :?:    opps I did not realize the chain is in the barrel. That is a predicament. No way will it be pushed out from the chamber since a rod will not fit. Id like to see how a smith fixes this one. I wonder if he has to remove the barrel?

Lots of info and we got many of these on the Menominee Indian reservation. Generally along old horse trails/ Indian trails shown on the Charles Brown maps and post 1860 abandoned settlements. see https://web.extension.illinois.edu/illinoissteward/openarticle.cfm?ArticleID=26&Page=2 photos of some of...

Re: Help! I had a D'oh moment

You can use a hardwood rod or fiberglass rod to hammer it out the way it went in, but brass will not crack. Buy a brass long rod as close to the barrel size as possible, but not a tight fit, so it does not bend. This is an expensive endeavor. When you get it out; just buy a nice Dewey cleaning rod o...

Webley pellet pistol in Battlefield finish

So Airgun depot an Pyramyd air in the USA will offer the Webley reproduction pellet pistol in the Battlefield finish and the Stainless exhibition finish in November of this year. The BB revolver is fair, but the black finish is nasty. It took a year for them to wake up and offer the more realistic f...
