Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

I like the Disturbed cover. 'Course Simon and Garfunkel are hard to beat, and their version was just one guitar and two voices. That's pretty impressive for such an iconic song.

The Disturbed version is powerful, amazing how they transformed the song.

Sounds of Silence

As a kid I remember my dad playing Simon and Garfunkel and listening to the song Sounds of Silence, even back then the song stuck a chord with me. Whenever I heard the song I was transported back in time to my worldwide upbringing. Listening to the song in the back seat of my Dads Charger as we drov...

Re: Good show on HMS Hood

True, I knew she took a beating and would had eventually sunk. I think the Germans act of scuttling her just sped the process up, and allowed them to say we scuttled her versus the British saying we sunk her. Good read here..... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_battleship_Bismarck All this tal...

Re: Good show on HMS Hood

Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't evidence of the Bismarck exploration show that the Germans scuttled her in the end?

Been a while since I watched the documentary, also the show "Drain The Oceans" did an episode on the Bismarck that showed the same outcome.

I've got a M69/71 made in 1879 if I did my math right. They are truly unique weapons.

Re: Signs you are growing old.

How about setting in the classroom in school, and the teacher passing out mimeographed papers? I remember the smell and if they were fresh enough, how warm they would be. As I was sitting here watching TV the term used for them came to mind. Dittos that is what my teachers referred to them as. So y...

Re: Modern war ship question

How many of our ships were targeted during Vietnam or any conflict since then? Plus with as potent as weapons are now, how much armor would be needed to protect a ship? At some point it becomes to heavy and slow.

And the fact that everyone picked up their paper and smelled it. The smell was a mix of alcohol and something.

"Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in." No, that's not Michael Corleone speaking, it's me. Ffuries tipped me off to a comprehensive list of TV series. So far I'm only through the letter E and I've found 16 that weren't on my original list. This could be a lifetime work, but I'll sprin...

Re: Very strange WW 2 battle

I just watched this on TV this evening. I had to rewind it, as I missed something and couldn't figure out why Germans were shooting at Germans along side Americans. The show is part of the "Hitler's Last Stand" series with the episode being "Enemy Allies" Season 1 Episode 4. With a description of: "...
