Re: Winchester Garand...UPDATE POST#9

Well fellas, here's the refresher of my original post, in which I could have misheard what was said or presumed what was meant: Wrapping up my barter Kali paper chase, of 2 Mongrel SKS and 2 Big 5 91/30's, for my FFL bud's cherry picked SVT40 20 years ago. While chatting I happened to asked if he h...

Re: Spurs and the Great West

The one holding the pole and reaching for the whisky bottle appears to be white. You know I thought that also, Alone with the man in upper row on the left with the strip on his arm, and Mr Pan holder... Now that rascal with the pan must have loved his fatback ... I agree with you there, either that...

Wow sounds like you did well, look forward to the pictures. Congrats! Depending on where the ammo came from, you're looking at about $300.00 just there.

Re: Cowboy is now a bad term

Its was not cowboys who defeated the Indians it was the Us Army and US gov't. Think of it this way if the US was not formed and all the tribes had not been defeated history would be very much worse off. The United Staes helped win 2 world wars. Would all of us be better off if Germany had won WW1. ...

Re: Any one know of Units marking their rifles SPANISH CIVIL WAR

Most of the rifles were overhauled and scrubbed at some point after the Civil War. The MP over 8 Flaming Bomb is believed to be a post-SCW arsenal mark. Here's a clearer example of the same marking as posted above on my Spanish Mauser.

Re: Ammo Display Help

Live or dummy rounds, right now I have live rounds for the ones I have. Wife and I are discussing with a reloading buddy the possibility of safing the rounds. The reason for the display is I have a lot of visitors that ask what the different calibers are similar to. This way they can have a visual r...

Ammo Display Help

My wife aka CINC Household has decided she wants to make an ammo display shadow box. She wants to display the rounds all of our weapons take. I have about 2/3''s of what we need on hand but there are a few rounds we are short. Decided to put a "HELP ME" post out there and see if anyone has a round o...

Happy birthday, America. It's time to renew that glorious 4th of July tradition of anvil shooting. Basically you set one anvil on top of another with black powder in between and touch it off. The top anvil goes up into the sky. There are some good youtube videos of this. Why do I get a mental pictu...

Re: where did you spend 4th of July 1976?

Wow let's see, I was 9 years old, we were stationed at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho at the time. So we were downtown Mountain Home watching the parade, then we went to an oldie drive in hamburger joint before heading back to the base. Now the weird part, I remember firework shows prior to Idaho (Spain) ...

Between Tricare and Medicare I never have any out of pocket expenses, which is awesome. Medtronic basically paid what would have been billed to Tricare/Medicare. Healing is coming along, still have nights when I roll over a certain way that wakes me up ASAP with some serious pain. The bruising has f...

Re: Spurs and the Great West

Most actors seem to practice the pause for effect in the middle of a sentence. "Howdy, gents, I'm here to take the...(pause)...stagecoach to Yuma." "Frankly, Seymour, you habits are driving me...(pause)...up the wall. Listen for it. You'll be surprised how often you hear it in shows both old and ne...
