Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

A semi gloss epoxy paint after a slight roughing up with coarse steel wool
A semi gloss powder coating which is very easy to do and will never wear off.
Cool deal, thanks for the information.

Pot Metal Finishing

I have my dad's old JP Sauer & Sohn Western Marshall that he bought while we were stationed at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho from 75-77. The ejector tube is made of pot metal or something, in fact the lip of the tube that inserts into a hole is partially broken off. I have a replacememt one on order as w...

Re: Vetterli cartridge lifter sticking

I’ve been using clenzoil lately for a try. Seems ok. Any experience with it? Of. Purse I have my trusty waffenfett. Cool, glad you found the issue, and you made a very valid statement regarding attention to details. We all pull blunders at times, hence the reason why we have to recheck things, some...

Re: Vetterli cartridge lifter sticking

Thanks. I think it does need more grease and oil Everyone has their go to oil and opinions are as varied as the amount of oil types out there. That said I use ATF on my guns to keep them oiled and rust free. I just dropped the lifter assembly after cleaning it in a bowl of ATF and left it soaking w...

Re: Vetterli cartridge lifter sticking

Mine would stick on my M69/71 when I first got it, but after a good cleaning and oiling it has worked like a champ ever since.

Re: WASR 10

As to the blonde wood, stain is a great way to change it up inexpensivly. Centerfire systems has new laminated stock sets never on a gun from 39.95 - 49.95. The higher price includes the gas tube. Check the regs, i have not been following 922r fegs for quite some time. I've thought about getting a ...

Here's a quick shot down the sight line. Nothing like the horror stories I've seen and read about over the years.

Master the ‘trigger slap’ ...
Came with the Century RAK1 trigger group. Supposed to be smoother and have no trigger slap, but I have no experience with them.

WASR 10

My WASR 10 arrived and came home with me, not a real fan of the blonde stock though. Zero cant to the sights, magazine wobble is negligible to the point of being equal to my AR-15. Either Century has gotten their QC/QA process figured out or I just got damn lucky. Pretty impressed overall with the f...

Re: Garand found locally. Educate me, please.

There were/are good and bad Blue Sky imports. There are reports that the blue sky stamping was done so hard it compressed/damaged the barrels. Then some done with no damage. All this is second hand from various postings I've read over the years.

Re: Gun Broker jerks

Sometimes people comment to give you correct information. It's easier to sell something at times when it's correctly labeled. Just my 2 cents..........LOL!

But as stated it's hard to interpret someone's intended tone from a typed message.

The plastic toy soldiers were a mainstay around our house when j was a kid. Just found these recently, kind of reminded me of my childhood, though we didn't have the accessories.

Re: 1908 Bronze ashtray ID request

BINGO , the VI is a "W". I think you got it. The letters are W Then N, D, A. And my farm boy that threw it out into the dump may have been the local Lomillers druggist back in the 1900-1940 time period. I will have to check the 1900 & 1930 plat book for the farm name and look into my Meno. Falls hi...

Re: 1908 Bronze ashtray ID request

Just a note the National Wholesale Druggists' Association or NWDA, was organized/established in 1876.

ETA: Definitely has that Art Nouveau look, and 1908 would place it during that period.

Sheriff's deputy had no issues with this........ Lots of people taking pictures off it, saw a news crew taking pics and video of it. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing! I was too busy with more important stuff then to deal with them at the time. . There has been looting in a lot areas al...
