Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Market for M44's and 91/40's

No more surplus 54r? I still have the spam cans I bought years ago. Arthritis. My shoulders won't take the heavy recoil anymore. Maybe I will take some to the gun show in Coffeyville. What is a reasonable price these days? I don't want to gouge but it would be nice to make a small profit on what I ...

Re: The American Fork Canyon Murder

That's sad. There weren't many occurrences like that back then, or should I say that's about when they started to be more frequent, and rangers started to gravitate more towards LOE, by default. PAX

I remember the pickle barrels full of rifles. Gun & Ammo's facing page always had a surplus dealer's listings. P51's, $1500, when new cars were that much. PAX

Re: Model of 1917 Eddystone (Sporter)

Too far gone and too well done for me to mess with . That's a very nice one indeed. I know what you mean. I picked up an 03-A3 Smith Corona for dirt, that was so nice I thought it was a Griffin & Howe. French walnut, fine line checkering, trap in butt, scroll work on metal wrist cap, Lyman rear and...

Re: New source for Iron...update post #6

Hi Fellas, Finally got around to picking up my $250 SKS from my FFL. This is the mongrel dog as received. After giving it a close look over I found some features I've not seen before. First was the sling. I haven't encountered spring retainers with that type of adjustment hasp, usually those have a ...

Re: 1917 eddystone question

Does it make it anymore collectable with the British markings I was going to offer 275 would that be worth it for a sporterized one I don't know what the value of these are The British markings may mean it was one sent to Britain early in WWII when they were short of weapons. If it still had it's o...

Re: 1917 eddystone question

Hi New Guy, If it's restorable, that's a plus. The front sight has to come off to put GI hardware back. Stock sets are around but spendy, as is the metal bits you'll need. The resto stuff drives up the total, close or the same as if you bought a complete rifle, but you saved one . That's the real sa...

Nice bunch of commie shooters. I was fortunate to get my SVT. They've been on the list, but just kept getting further and further out of reach. PAX
