Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: M-59/66A1 SKS...

I got myself a Yugoslavian M-59/66A1 SKS rifle this weekend, its all matching serial numbers, so fair everything looks great on it, just lots of cosmline... Watch out and take care. Those sks's are addictive. Pretty soon you will be buying blanks and inert grenades to shoot off of the yugo. Then th...

Re: New source for Iron...picts post #7

Thanks. I think it's much better too.

I've since picked up 2 more SKSs also in camo. A paratrooper with the bayo lugs ground off(??), and another with the barrel cut to 18 inches. I'll post up some before and after's when I'm done working them over. PAX

Re: Blind Date with short Chinese Twins

Unless the Paratrooper is a Kengs Para Hunter, I like them better with the bayo attachment, It looks how an SKS should have been made.

BTW I've got an extra Para spiker bayo I'd trade for an SKS blade one if anyone/s in the hunt for one.. PAX

Re: Blind Date with short Chinese Twins

The early birds scored pretty hard, but some of the "non" bayo units are turning out to be Navy Arms imports, some are showing up with T89 rails, and some appear NIB.

Yours look great and were a good buy in todays world. PAX

Re: Bought the story...the rifle was cheap

How well does the Bolt work compared to some of the M95 and m90 conversions.. I have heard people say that guns got alot of the Bolt stiffness when they were reworked and converted.. This is closer to the Original configuration. And has anyone ever seen and M90/24 converted to 8mm.. I have a real t...

Bought the story...the rifle was cheap

Hi Guys, Many moons ago, when Kali was a free state, and cash & carry reigned supreme, I ran across this little guy garage sailing. The little old lady that had it out, said her grampa "Brought it back from over there...he was a Doughboy". I was vaguely familiar with the action, but had only seen lo...

Re: 1962 Surplus ad, what to get if you had 35 bucks

I think it was "Guns & Ammo" in the '50s-'60s era, the facing page was always a surplus dealer "ACME" or ?? $1500 got you a P51, they had half tracks, deuce & 1/2s, jeeps, tons of gear for dirt. In '59 my pops bought a 1100 sq. ft. flat top tract home for $13,500 @ 2% on a WWII G.I. note. In '78 the...

Re: New To Me, Ishapore 2A1

I've got a couple, a '65 & a '67. I like them. http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac159/adpax/DSCN0807_zps3e3b4341.jpg One was pre-Bubbad that I worked over a little. It's salvageable, but doesn't bother me the way it's set up, zero at 500 yards, 5 rounds. I've put a Blackhawk lace on cheek riser si...

Good going on the resto. The ferrule is going to be the toughie. They're getting scarce. Might see if a Tapco gas tube and HG will swap out for wood. They pop up on fleabay but are $pendy. PAX

Re: Modern war ship question

I can't say for sure, but I think the mentality is to not take missile hits, by using defensive stand off systems. That and the types of engagements modern ships are designed for aren't WWII style. PAX

Re: TOO BAD

The last time I went shooting was 4 years ago. We shot the .357 & .41 mag, with my (now) ex-nephew in law, active Marine, Beretta instructor. Before that was 6 years ago, running a couple recently acquired SKSs. I got a practical example of negative sear engagement. Currently I'm no fewer than 3 doz...
