Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: My pair of sporters
I would've traded one of my sport job .303s for a 7mm Mauser. I've got a 2A1 7.62X51 in one of those ATIs, an 8X32X50, with 5 round mag & bipod. Good shooter, accurate. PAX

I've got a long rifle in the original 8X50R. It's made very well. I've held on to it just because. PAX

Anybody in the Detroit area? Lead on cheap SKS
Hi Fellas,
I got a lead on a cheap SKS in Romulus, MI if anybody's looking PM me. Was there on business recently and came up on a good deal, but no Kali ship. PAX

I'm on a bunch, mostly mil surp and C&R oriented. There's much to be gleaned from those in the know, with real world experiences, in particular, weapons and ammo failure. This place is friendly. PAX

Re: Questions on my new sporterized 1903
I have a Smith-Corona sport that was so nicely done I thought it was a Griffin & Howe. Lyman hooded front & rear peep, fine line checked walnut stock, burnished turned down knurled bolt, trap door butt plate, metal button on wrist base. I sent some picts to G&H, and their archivist was kind enough t...

That about sets the base for Cincinnati. They are creeping up these days. I've got a couple mismatched M44s I just listed in a local forum for a FTF, with a close to "I don't really want to sell" prices, to feel out the market. PAX

Couple good looking rifles. I lusted after an SVT for years, and I was finally able to barter for one a while ago. M1 Paratrooper has been on the list forever. PAX

That's a nice rifle for your son. A true family heirloom, made back in the day by a craftsman, who once could earn a living building such critters, for working folk who couldn't afford new. PAX

Re: Is it worth it?
It's not even been a remote consideration for me in the past, as I've always done good on the street, FTF. I've been at it for a few decades, and prefer to handle and inspect each item. BUT, the world wide web has added an impact with a greater base of availability. I haven't acquired an 03, and don...

Re: Ishapore scope mount?
Well, ended up ordering the S&K mount as a D&T wasn't available. It sure looked shaky but mounted solid. Took about two hours with a Dremel on the synthetic stock to properly mount it. thanks for the recommendation! I have that same set up on my '67 2A1. Mine came pre-Bubbad (this rifle could be br...
