Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Faux Swedish M41B CMP vintage sniper match rifle...updated with range report

I used 34.5 grs of IMR 4064 and a 140 gr Nosler Custom Competition. Same load that I was using in my Ljungman.

Keep us informed as to your long range results.
Thanks! I'm just getting ready to do some reloads and I'm going to give that a try.

Re: Faux Swedish M41B CMP vintage sniper match rifle...updated with range report

Very nice shooting! I sold my "Faux" M/41B about a year ago, and kicked myself until I found another one recently. Another Swede aficionado had built one from an M96 with a very good bore. He used the Accumounts mount and also put a Weaver K4 scope on it. I had a spare AJACK scope, so I switched out...

Re: Picked up a 1899 M96

Thanks anyone know how tall the front sight should be I think some one putva taller one on it. It seems to hit right on at 100 yards. Originally zeroed for 300 meters. If yours is right on at 100 someone has put a tall front sight on it. You can use this formula to see how much you would need to ch...

Re: Rifle scopes

Here is another option: http://ironsightinc.com/. Typical minor repair, cleaning and adjustment around $100. They can be slow, but do good work.

Re: M1 Garand

If you are looking for a "starter" M1 Garand, I'd recommend ordering one from the CMP. You can get a nice service grade rifle for $750 including shipping in a hard case. They are going through rifles brought back from the Philippines right now, and guys are getting some surprisingly nice rifles. Its...

Re: Odd occurrance (E-Bay)

For the seller PayPal charges 2.9% + .30 for each sale. I think this is for using credit cards. It may not apply if you use funds directly moved from a bank account. On a $38 transaction that would come to a $1.40 charge. Ebay also charges the seller for items sold, but this is not done at the time ...

Re: M1 Garand

That is an M1D sniper base. The scope mount screws into the hole on the side. Difficult to say whether it is an original M1D or not, since it is a fairly often replicated rifle. I think only rifles that have come from the CMP are verifiable as "original" M1Ds. M1D production started towards the end ...

Re: Price on 1896/11

If it is in really great shape, I'd say that would be an OK price from a dealer. I'd expect to pay less from a private seller in the SE US.

Re: My Swedish m/96, dated 1904

Should be a good shooter. Probably not worth stripping the finish off the stock, since it also looks like it was heavily sanded. If you wanted to return it to more original condition you could replace the stock, but I'd probably just leave it alone, especially if the stock has matching numbers.

Re: Ordering from Numrich Question?

Don't know if this still works, since I have not tried it in a while, but here is how I've done it in the past: Call them up (don't remember the number), and ask for the free shipping code on the phone. You get the code, then hang up and use the code to order online.

Re: "Mummy wrapped" Enfield #4/Mk2(F) value??

Going rate seems to be $1000 plus in my area (SE US). One thing I will mention is that some guys who are unwrapping these guns are finding corroded and rusted parts. I don't think the wrapping was ever intended for long term storage. On one had you want to keep it wrapped to maintain value, on the o...

These Swedish rifles are definitely addictive! Mechanically excellent, accurate, a wide variety of shooting platforms, and low recoil.................what more could you ask for. You just want to have one of each.

Very nice, and very rare rifle. You got it for a great price. I have a CG 80 that is really fun to shoot. Post up some shooting results after you have a chance to get it to the range.

Re: 1903 a3

Looks like a nice original M82 scope in good condition. The M82 scopes are getting harder to find, and typically sell for $1000 plus. Those scopes were pretty simple. I don't think there would be any problem adjusting windage or elevation on it. If it doesn't work you can send it to Iron Sights. The...

Re: Who else sent the PW to CMP for a 1911?

I put my packet into the lottery. Nice to hear that there were just over 17000 versus some predictions of up to 100,000. According to the rules, just about everyone that put in an accepted packet will get a chance to buy one either this year or the next 2 years assuming the CMP is able to get anothe...
