Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: CMP 1911 email

If they are smart about it, prices will be right along the same lines as the Garands. However I'm thinking that any of them that they sell under $1,000, are going to to be beat to hell, broken, and or stripped frames. I don't think they are going to cause the prices to drop right off the bat, but pr...

Re: P14 project done

Nice restoration. I have a 1916 Remington p14 drill rifle barreled action I am going to restore at some point, it's missing the rear sight, but is otherwise 100% numbers matching. I just have to track down a stock and the hardware, and I am thinking about getting one of the p14 criterion barrels for...

Re: finally picked up another no4 mk1

That's a no go on the scopes, I have done a little searching around and other than your comment, I have not seen anything definitive either way. However, since it's the no32 has 1" tube, I am thinking about picking up one of the repo mounts and putting an old weaver k4 or something similar on it, do...

Re: SHOOTING ACCURACIES

I can answer why muzzle brakes deflect to the sides. With a rifle, when prone it will kick up a lot of dust, and the blast would bounce off the ground and probably destroy something, and it would not be a pleasant experience for the shooter either because in order to be effective, muzzle brakes vent...

Re: finally picked up another no4 mk1

I'll probably use raw then, all boiled I can find in my area is the newer stuff. I also ordered a stock to replace the one that's on it, with any luck it will at least be a normal length one. On another note, any one have an experience with the repo no32 scopes and mounts that numrich sells?

finally picked up another no4 mk1

It's been a few years since I have owned an enfield, and I have been keeping my eye out for one that was a little beat up, and could use some tlc, but had a good bore. This is the first one that poped up that fit the bill. I did some horse trading with a buddy and ended up with this, 218 rounds of 3...

Re: VZ24 Stock

There is always a few on ebay, but I am thinking with all the metal and hand guard you are looking at $75-100. The days of discarded $15 stocks from the gunsmith are long gone. Also look at the bolt cut because some are notched for a bent bolt others remain intact for a straight bolt. The ones I po...

Re: VZ24 Stock

Numrich has them for around $50. Go to the Mauser section, click on cz24, and look for the stock set. Or click this link. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/50310

Re: MAS .308 conversions

I had one that I was lucky if it ran three rounds in a row without a failure to extract. I ran 70 rounds through it before I had enough and traded it off, I think the most it went with no problems was 5 rounds.

Re: Show us your mid-late war Nagoya Type 99's

My series 5 nagoya. Number 30541, bolt does not match the rifle, so it could be an earlier one. However the finish of the bolt is similar to the rifle so I am assuming it's been with it awhile. Plum bolt The bore is chromed, and I believe the bolt face is as well. front band is 2 screw missing the f...

Re: VZ24 sniper rifle clone

I got all the parts together, I managed to track down a mauser 98 bent bolt that I was willing to pay the price for, and put the rifle together..... Only to find out the new bolt has the wrong kind of bend. I ended up taking it into a local smith to have it rebent, it cost $40, he even reprofi...

Re: VZ24 sniper rifle clone

The first thing I found for it was a complete stock. I ordered it off numrich for around $50, I wish I would have taken a picture of it when I first got it, it was covered in gunk and cosmoline, but it did not have any major damage or cracks, it was however missing a few parts, most noticible in the...
