Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Advice on annealing--and YouTube posts to evaluate

Brass and steel are not the same , you have it backwards . Quenching hot steel makes it harder [ like case hardening ] , you air cool it to make it softer . Quenching brass makes it softer . Just look it up , it quit being top secret over 120 years ago after the Germans first figured it out with the...

Re: Advice on annealing--and YouTube posts to evaluate

Neither person in either video annealed the brass . The first guy did not get it hot enough to anneal it . The second guy did not water cool the brass after he heated it . The quenching is what softens the brass . Letting it air cool does not . So two people who had no idea , BUT felt they needed to...

Re: Reloading accurate ammo mini articles

That is not what I am saying . The links you posted are ok basic reloading instructions . I am talking about the series of articles on the old surplus site , listed at the top of the home page under " articles " . There are a bunch there written about reloading with cast bullets or for military rifl...

Re: Reloading accurate ammo mini articles

The reloading posts you listed are an ok example of basic reloading . BUT a lot of the stuff in the old article listings is really bad , I mean wrong , dangerous or just plain BS .

Re: Spring/Summer 50 yard Milsurp Shoot.

How would you score 10 shots fired at only 50 yards , it would be a ragged hole with no way to tell just how many bullets went through it .

I see the carbines at a 10 to 1 ratio of the long rifles .

Re: Price check Krag–Jørgensen Norwegen M1894 "long Krag"

With the exact model known , it is easier to give a value . The Norwegian 6.5mm Long rifle is the hardest of all the Krags to find . Being a local made rifle is a little more common than a Steyr made . On a rare rifle problems [ like the sanded stock ] do not hurt it as much as a more common rifle ....

Re: M88/05/34 ?

The first y tube , the guy is a moron , has NO idea what he is doing . Everything he says is wrong , even to the point of contradicting himself many times . Second one is a little better , some is correct , but much is not . He gets the meanings of all the markings wrong , he just used other incorre...

Re: M88/05/34 ?

Since the Turks made that rifle modification , it will be Turk marked . Since it is pre 1899 receiver it should never have had an import mark . As for a price , they are not real popular , all in about the same condition and have .323 groove barrels . $200 to $300 ??

Re: Interesting Gun Failures

Thanks I will try those and the recommended formula with my IMR 3031. I stumbled onto this interesting info. while looking for/at Carcano reloading info. see lower link. I can not hit a target with any of my 5 Carcanos with Prvi ammo. Not sure if it's all :text-bs: but an interesting read. B...

Re: Interesting Gun Failures

Yes that is the regular Hornady .264 dia round nose bullet . Just load it with a regular expander ball made for .264 bullets .

Re: Interesting Gun Failures

My accuracy standards are probably tougher than most people's . I do not use cast bullets in Carcanos as they do not shoot well in most for several reasons . 1. Gain twist rifling tears up cast bullets . Deep rifling deforms cast bullets . You would need a cast bullet to fit the bore on the one rifl...

They are not silver plated . That is a slick nickel alloy . The Italian military bullets are .2658 dia . They are make that way for a reason .
