Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

artillery luger stock

What was the original finish on the german artillery luger stocks? Was the finish the standard linseed oil rub? I just bought a reproduction stock and intend to alter it to make it look as authentic as possible (I am in no means going to try and pass off a fake as authentic). I have no intention of ...

Re: French 1892 revolver

Ummh, might have to invest in a mold. Send some details from Accurate if you can since I found their website harder to use than most. Sorry to hear about not being able to get a Ruby. I went out shooting with a buddy who had some modern semi-auto pistols and he loved that Ruby more than his stuff. ...

Re: French 1892 revolver

Wow, you got a mould for that thing. I am not worthy. Where did you get it? Those aren't easy to find. Those pistols definitely have character few others have. Best Regards, Mark BTW, Next you will want a Ruby pistol. I bought a mould from accurate I believe it was. Unfortunately I cant have a ruby...

Re: French 1892 revolver

Got the revolver in today and looks absolutely fantastic. Gave it a thorough strip and clean with ballistol. Unfortunately the revolver survived at least 1 world war but couldn't withstand the fury of husky and labrador fur haha. Hornady dies are coming in tomorrow along with a mould to make bullets...

The holster appears to be genuine, with stamps from raw material supplier and manufacturer.
Are the holsters considered rare and or uncommon? If so then I might have not overpaid for the set that I initially thought

French 1892 revolver

Just bought this revolver at auction and it came with a holster. Is the holster an original issued item or is it some reproduction?

Revolver looks like its in good condition. I'm going to reload for it.

Re: French 8mm ordnance

Any chance red dot would be a good powder? Or is that a terrible powder to use?

Re: French 8mm ordnance

What's the cartridge overall length when loaded? Hard to find the max lengths and everything like that. I am trimming to 27.2mm from 32-20. Anyone have the usual dimensions to measure in order to load?

Re: French 8mm ordnance

What's a good powder charge with hp-38 or trail boss? Somewhere in the 3-3.5 grains on 120gr?

French 8mm ordnance

Potentially looking to reload 8mm french ordnance for the 1892 revolver. What was the original bullet weight? I'm reading 120gr but fiocchi is selling theirs with 111gr so the sights would likely be off. Any tips on bullet weights since I'll be casting? Brass will be trimmed 32-20

Re: 9mm steyr brass

update on the conversion process, the brass is too thick on the inside diameter when the bullet is seated so it bulges at the mouth. This causes the brass to not chamber and go into battery. I have an adjustable reamer on order from Amazon so when it comes in i will give that a go and see if i can f...

Re: metal turned brown cleanup

i use ballistol to clean and oil my firearms which i believe was designed for the german gewehr 98 and other service arms way back in the day. I'll keep using more elbow grease to see what i can continue to clean off. Currently there is nearly 0 pitting at the moment that i can see.

Re: metal turned brown cleanup

Weren't the GWE98 receivers often left in the white originally? yeah receivers, bolts, buttplate and a few other pieces were left in the white. Mine unfortunately has i believe tarnish, staining and "patina" from years of neglect i believe, the bolt and receiver match and the bolt is in the white s...

Re: metal turned brown cleanup

Yes I know but purists get their knickers in a twist if I call it "old rust" I just can't win! its on an old GEW98 receiver, its not blued but the receiver has the brown "rust" on it, should i use more elbow grease to remove the tarnish or would it be best to leave it as is? It's an Amberg 1905 mau...
