Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Post-Yugoslavian pistols

Wow those are such exotic looking guns... Almost like something from Man from UNCLE Yeah, the weirdness is definitely an appeal. I would have liked to have found one with the 5 inch barrel, those sort of look like Star Wars blasters. But I understand those were mostly early makes, and the later one...

Re: Post-Yugoslavian pistols

Just a brief update on the PHP MV9- I did a range trip the other day with it, and I am very, very pleased overall with it. It put some ragged holes in the bullseye when I did my part. No failures in about 70 rds of S&B 115 gr FMJ. I checked another board for info, and I seem to have one of the highe...

Re: Post-Yugoslavian pistols

It came home today, and I have to say: what a marvelously bizarre little creature it is! The gun has to be basically 95% or better, there is one small mark on the side of the frame, where the trigger bar rubbed it. Otherwise I'd say LNIB. I cleaned it down and reassembled it (and thankfully there ar...

Re: Post-Yugoslavian pistols

Croatian, not Serbian. First Croatian pistol, that's the name. The first pistol in the picture is a Zastava CZ 99. Mine is marked Yugoslavia, but Zastava is located in persent-day Serbia, and the guns made after the breakup are marked Serbia. That was the motivation for the PHP to be created- the C...

Re: Finally got a Beretta 92

Went to the range, it was all you could ask for in terms of accuracy. My 2 cheap Taurus donor mags worked 100%.

Re: Star Modelo B Super

These are surprisingly good pistols. I have a 1943 Model B (non-Super) and a Model B Super from the early 1960's. The design improvements in the Super are very well thought out. I've noticed that several Model A and B Supers that I have seen in recent years (mine included) are afflicted with weak h...

Re: 1907 Savage

:crying-yellow: scoobysnacker, Try some other .32 acp rounds like PPU or S&B. Will try PPU next. I don't THINK the barrel's shot out or the crown is bad, but we'll see. I'm not a super marksman, but I'm usually better than that. :? Edited to add- scratch that, the Fiocchi and the barrel is fine. I t...

Re: Post-Yugoslavian pistols

72 usmc, that is a nice looking pistol. The long barrel guns are neat. Ok, I went to sign for it and got hit with the delay again, it's basically expected that I wait 3 days after filling out forms. Probably 3/4 of the time. (I had won this and the Beretta 92S within 12 hrs of each other, and...

Re: Some 9x18 pistols

So what do feed your herd? I've got a bunch of Silver Bear that works quite well. Only drawback is that the bullets will attract a magnet so indoor ranges here won't allow that stuff. They're really not very picky :D I've put a good bit of Brown Bear through them, Wolf, did some Fiocchi and Geco br...

Re: World of Guns Game

I've fiddled a little with this, and it's intriguing, to be sure. The concept is great, especially if it can supply a tutorial, and some info. I find myself needing something similar to this when cleaning my Savage 1907, and my Ruger Mk II. I'd REALLY like to have it available (and be accurate with ...

1891 Argentine- replacement stocks?

So we have a sporterized Argentine Mauser, still in original 7.65x53. As far as I can tell, it was one of the original "store job" sporterizings; the stock is original, but has been sawed off about halfway down the hand grip area, right about where the band would go. A straight cut, no rounding or s...

Good to see this forum back up

I'm really happy to see this board return. I came across it years back due to my love of the surplus pistols, and some of the history surrounding them.
It's great to be able to come to a board where you can discuss these guns and not have somebody demean them and tell you to get a Glock/Shield etc.

Re: 1907 Savage

Here's the only shot I have of mine.. I got it pretty cheap, and it was missing the right side grip. I found the replacement grips, and have taken it out shooting since then. It's reliable (no failures) with Fiocchi 7.65mm, but it just sprays the bullets out. I get "groups" of maybe a foot or more, ...

Some 9x18 pistols

I posted this in another thread, singling out the CZ 82; but they all qualify as they were all Warsaw Pact issue. Not the best quality photo, and I've since replaced a grip on the Hungarian (I found one without the thumbrest, that matched the right panel). In doing a little research on my PA 63, I B...
