Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Franco/Prussian shoot-off 2017

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5794/30565934760_24ea49b4f3_b.jpg This is my M1862 Dreyse Zundnadelgewehr. I promised awhile back to shoot this and my French M1866 Chassepot at the same time. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4374/36755481350_926b7c2a1f_b.jpg Shot on a clear sunny day at 100 yds. with ...

Re: M1941 USMC sniper rifle

Calfed, The Leatherwood reproduction is junk in my opinion. The mounts are really just base metal and will not remain tight, but the scope has similar problems with screws that won't tolerate too much stress and as you know some are very tiny! I had a Unertl 12x scope with very fine crosshairs which...

Re: Dreyse is nice

Hello Enfield Shooter,

It actually shoots pretty well out to 100 yds. I will post a target whenever I take it out next.

Re: AC44 G43 w/zf4 scope

dogboysdad, I don't think that I've seen any new zf4 mounts but ebay usually has a few. The Meopta (Czech) scope might be found. edit 7/9/17 Actually, Numerich Gunparts lists a repo mount at $119 and a Meopta scope with can for $399. If you called them they my not actually have these but in any case...

Re: 1943 Remington 03A4

retread,
I will try to find the name of fellow from whom I purchased mine, if I can but it has been several years. At the time he didn't use Paypal so I just sent him some English Pounds which I had left from a trip to England. It wasn't convenient but the result was very nice.

Re: 1945 BYF kreigsmodell HT sniper rifle

Yes I have shot it but I took the scope off and used irons! I've some experience with vintage scopes and what happens when vintage meets stupid, but I'll just let you figure the outcome!

Dreyse is nice

The Prussians started the bolt action craze in 1842. This is a more modern version of that gun, the M1862 Dreyse needle ignition rifle. This one was sold to me with the caveat that the "bolt functions really hard". That truly was the case it literally took two men and a boy to operate! I figure that...

M40A1 build

This is the most accurate rifle that I possess. It started life as a Remington 700 Mil Spec barrel rifle. I Duracoated it a vintage gray/green color and mounted it in a USMC M40 camo fiberglass stock. The scope is the Redfield 9x vintage M40 reproduction. I put on sling swivels for military slings a...

M21 build

I started this build with a 1980 M1A from Springfield Armory Genesco. I discovered after purchasing this weapon that it had never been through a 1987 recall to address a bolt issue. I sent back in 2016 to SAI and while they had it I had a NM barrel installed. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4286/3574...

M1941 USMC sniper rifle

This a 1941 USMC build done the right way. It began as a 1929 NM 03 Springfield with star gauged barrel. The scope is an original USMC Unertl unit from WW2. The bolt is correctly polished with the serial number electro-penciled on to it. I have shot this rifle using a reproduction USMC scope and the...

1939 Tula PEM sniper

This is my MN 91/30 ex-sniper that was re-snipered at some point. It had very un-russian serial numbers applied to the mag plate, bolt, and buttplate. The bolt and stock were horrible Bubba jobs but with the help of "Boltman" I was able to make a complete Tula rifle in correct form out of it. Thankf...

1945 BYF kreigsmodell HT sniper rifle

This is a K98 kreigsmodell with all of the correct sniper nomenclature, serial# in the stock channel, take down hole in the buttstock wood but with checkered cupped buttplate, and added take down escutcheon in the stock. However, the scope mounts and rings are J. Sauer & Sohn so were probably put on...

I added the original scope and mount. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4264/35741700896_34a0980c2c_b.jpg I have since repaired the leather strap with a new piece so that it is complete and...
