I. had read many captured or surrendered guns were sent to. Rock Island where they gradually vanished over time

Many thanks for sharing these unusual photos. There were other arms used as well. My eyes are pretty well used as well, but it looks as if a Danish Krag. is featured in a studio shot about half way through the pictures. Thanks again. HAPPY 4TH !!

If. I recall there was a scene at the rifle issuance where the soldiers read off the serial numbers as they pulled them from a crate. Any significance in that??

Don't know what the budget is, but if the stocks is fixable. put a scope on it and have is as a M98 sniper. No damage done

Go figure. About 20 years back there were lots of them around with the Canadian Broad Arrow. More than a couple were still blued

I have seen a few of these One was a TYPE 38 rifle, one a "last ditch TYPE 99 rifle. Also have seen photos of these being modified in Honeycutts book

I. think it is too much rigamarole for these guns. I have read where guns were stored and shipped in steel airtight barrels . Most will be mixmasters, but it 20 years they may the holy grail
