Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Hey if you don't mind, where did you get the primers? Thanks.

Re: 7.55 swiss 175smk?

I love pulling the GP11 bullets and dropping in a 175 SMK...… from good to better, instantly.

Re: RIFLE BORE PHOTO GUIDE

That is great stuff sir. I'd like to suggest a product that I have found useful, the Lyman BoreCam. Optically it's not up to the level of the Hawkeye borescope but it is very convenient to use and puts the image on a screen so all present can see "what's in there". Plus it's pretty affordable at aro...

Re: SOG Southern Ohio Guns is history

I dealt with SOG for a long time and it was all good. AIM is my new SOG, they treat me very well and have a lot of stuff that I'm interested in.

Re: AK-74 800 yard target damage

Fascinating stuff. I remember reading or reading about Hatcher's experiments with penetration long distance vs/ close and the similar results. I don't recall him testing steel, but I bet he did.

Well you have motivated me to do my own testing, let's see if I get a chance to do it before spring.....

Re: AK-74 800 yard target damage

Here's a pic of some fairly new steel, targets I had made for some classes I'm involved in. They are 9/16" AR500, I had a couple made for myself in the same order of ten targets. At this point the class targets have about 2K rounds each on them.... I think. We make sure no one is using M855, not so ...

Re: AK-74 800 yard target damage

Very interesting and surprising too, as I have not experienced that kind of target damage on AR500 with 7n6. Interesting too to learn that there are hardness variances in the steel core depending upon the country of origin; I have used Russian, Bulgarian and Ukrainian.... I have not gone beyond 500 ...

Re: Interesting Gun Failures

In the latest Guns & Ammo AR15 special, there is an article by me about one of the easiest and surest ways to blow up your AR15, or anything else chambered in 5.56 for that matter-- chamber and fire a .300 Whisper / Blackout in it. The bullet will often stick in the barrel. When it's a .308 diameter...

Re: 175 gr Nosler RDF bullets

I'm sure it would be good stuff for X55. I have used the 178 Amax and 175 Sierra SMK for Mexican Match in 7.5 and both work very well. In my limited experience with GP11 ammo the accuracy limiter is the bullet..... at least in my rifle. Pull the bullet and replace with either one mentioned and flyer...

Re: CUSTOM BULLET MOLD

Well the "donor" mold was for a round ball that was a little smaller than the bullet Ray wanted, so I had it easy there. And the shape of the new bullet was very simple, ball nosed with a slightly larger diameter at the shank so it looked like the 150-grain .45 ACP wadcutter, but of about .75 calibe...

Re: CUSTOM BULLET MOLD

OLDGUNNER, I've been enjoying your posts. I recently retasked an existing mold for my friend Ray Ordorica, for one of his double rifles. He gave me mold dimensions that would allow of paper patching, which he has done quite a bit of over the years. He wrote about it in The American rifleman in 1978:...

Re: Lets see those Czech pistols

Can a $300 pistol be worth putting several times that in custom work? I guess that's up to the individual but this individual thought so and so did I..... I really like the CZ 83, especially in 9mm MAK. It's very large for its caliber but that's what some people need. or maybe it's all they have or ...
