Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: WASP WAIST BULLETS

For someone that hand loads and has a lathe , couldn't they turn down a bullet to have a wasp waist before hand loading? If someone had the time maybe a comparison test could be made. Mythbusters anyone?

Online giveaway rifles

Does anyone know anyone or has anyone themselves won any of the firearms given away in the numerous on-line drawings? (whew.. Does that even make sense?) Just wondering...

Re: Something fishy in K98s

So the question is, who has a stash of Mauser rifles that can be cleaned up and passed as K98s? The rifles have to come from somewhere.

Cheap, low-buck rifle holders for cleaning?

What do people use? Bring them out and post them. Just what do you have at home for holding your rifle while you clean it. I used to have one of these, but sold it. Let's see what you have or made. https://d2j6tswx2otu6e.cloudfront.net/M9nh47q35sCwmh7chEaJxqJtW3s=/600x450/5866/5866dd30e9294793995623...

Re: NRA boycott list.

So you are going to boycott businesses that are no longer affiliated with the NRA. And these businesses have already done the math and calculated how much business this is going to cost them. So basically, boycotting businesses that have decided that they can accept the loss of your business equals ...

Re: Rust.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I elected to go with some light machine oil and steel wool. Then wiped it down and put it away. After all, it is just a common, generic magazine. Thank you all again.

Rust.

I have a magazine for a m1 Carbine that has surface rust on it. Looking for some hints on how to remove this without removing what is left of the bluing. Wipe it down with WD40 and call it a day? Soak it in vinegar? Coke-a-Cola? Inquiring minds want to know.

Mauser model 58 on Proxibid

Saw this and had to laugh.

Model 58

If you don't look close, I guess it does look like a 58.

Re: Question about iron sights on an AR

Thank you for the reply RWS. You answered my question at the end of your post. Since the front sight is also the gas tube block, the position of the gas tube block dictates where the front sight is located.
Thank you again.

Question about iron sights on an AR

I do have a question about sights on Ar rifles. On modern AR rifles why is the front sight so close to the handguard? I realize that most people would not even be using iron sights, but doesn't it affect the aiming with the front sight a third of the way down the barrel?

Thanks...
