Re: Camillus mk2 knife with USMC provenence

I understand how you feel. My cousin sent me my uncle's knife that went through the pacific war with my uncle's USMC cousin; who gave the knife to my SeaBee uncle in 1944. Both came home after the war, and I spoke with them both often when I was young. I will pass the knife on with the provenance to...

Re: Israeli Galil ARM and AR rifles in 7.62 and 5.56

Thanks for the replies. The one I've seen and shot belonged to a friend of mine who had one of the original imports. It's in 7.62 and ran perfectly, although the magazines for it are made of unobtainium, it seems. I was just curious if there were any more about.

Israeli Galil ARM and AR rifles in 7.62 and 5.56

Are there very many in the US? Not the Century Arms pseudo Galils, but the original Semi-auto ones imported way back 20 odd years ago. Just curious, since I've only seen one in 10 years.

Re: M1917 or SMLE?

Depends somewhat on your area, but SMLEs are found more easily than P17s in my experience. Out here, I've only seen 2 P17s (non sporterized) in over a year. On the other hand, I've seen at least 4 SMLEs recently, both sporterized and not. Mausers seem to be more common at gun shows here too.

Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet

I picked one up years ago at a gun show as part of a batch of 5 old /odd bayonets along with a couple of British spike bayonets and oddly enough, a Johnson rifle bayonet. All this for $15. I had no Idea what I had bought for a year or so until a friend told me what I had. It was just luck mixed with...
