Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Early War MAS Mle 36

Finished a great collecting year off with completing my WWII major contribution collection, an early war MAS Mle 36. These are pretty rare up on the tundra, the only one I’ve seen here was a sporter model at Cabelas 9 years ago. It’s a May 1940 production, just prior or during the German invasion. I...

Re: 91/38 carbine

Think he’s telling you a story. Finland did not return their Carcanos, they stored them and sold them surplus in the 1950’s. Only known M-38s that stayed in Italy were never sent and are marked “Cal 7.35” on the buttstock. These are thought to be sent to the Russian front with Italy’s detachment the...

Kar98k BCD 4

Thought I'd add my newest addition . BCD 4 Phosphate finish in a semi krieg model stock. The bolt is not matching but the price was right. I always wanted to add a phosphate to my collection.

Re: Arisaka 99 can you tell me what I have?

Type 99 possibly, early war model. If you are able to post better photos of the right side of the receiver, we'll be able to tell you more based off the markings. Looks like the bayonets been refinished. The sling and bayonet frog appear to be repos as well, but originals are rare and big $$$.

Re: Show us your mid-late war Nagoya Type 99's

OK but, I was refering to OP's pictures? Steve Makes sense now. Indeed the OP's pics do show a metal butt plate. However it isn't inletted, it covers over a protrusion of the butt stock wood and in part holds the two pieces of wood together. Yes, I would best describe it as a slightly cupped buttpl...

Re: Nagant revolver

Based on the wear on most of the stampings and the metal finish and texture suggests it's been sanded and refurbed. Inbelieve it just didn't get marked with a refurb mark. Does appear to have a lot of Izhevsk marked parts which it a plus. Still a nice example, congrats.

Re: Carcano Folding Bayonet

Not often you find a bayonet dearer than the rifle but this is one of them. Your Bayo looks to be in great condition. Does yours have some remaining "plum" finish on it? Mark AP, I agree for the most part. I got and M38 just to get one of the folding bayonets as the Italian representation in my col...

Great Resource For Accurizing Kar98k

I've used this source a couple times to great effect in accurizing my Russian Capture Kar98k's, but it should hold true for most Mausers.
