Re: Ever see this kind of Type 99 rifle

I love converted rifles like this.. I have seen a couple of these over the years.. They are neat. But I do know that there are some fakes out there. I have never been told how to tell the fakes from real ones.. But this one has the sloppiest "US CAL 30" I have ever seen.. I also like the Chinese cap...

Re: Movie rifle anachronism

The Luftwaffe always seemed to struggle for small arms, so I would think captured Krags would be a perfect fit for POW guards.. They would not need a lot of extra ammo. I think the Germans in Norway even produced 6.5mm ammo during the war for their captured Krags.. I do not think the Germans made Le...

Re: SAFFERS loading .303 at PMP IIRC.

That was wonderful.. And the end "My Dear Chumlee" wonderful One thing that has always fascinated in bullet making in this time frame is you had people manually loading a part of the bullet or case into a machine one at a time.. I have wondered for years was this because no one could automate that s...

Re: Night hog hunting

Wild hogs can be quite tasty. I have killed a few on public land here in Florida, and cooked them all. The big old boars can be a bit gamey, nothing smoke and marinade cant cure. The ones under 50 lbs are quite tasty, have little fat, and are easy to carry 2 miles back to the truck. The big one are...
