Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Thinking of a 10/22.

Is there any reason I shouldn't? If you shoot from the left shoulder (I do), it will toss hot brass down your collar, or bounce them off your forehead just about every time. If I didn't have a .22, I'd pick up a MAS-45 before I bought the Ruger, but that's me. I dumped my 10-22 and bought a Brownin...

Re: Ljungman value?

$650 is cheap, and the barrels are almost always in good condition. You can also get NOS barrels from Springfield Sporters. I paid $50 for a like-new barrel from them about 3 years ago.

Re: 7.62x54r chamber insert to shoot 7.62x25?

I have one, and fired approximately 50 rounds through it. As others have commented, it was a good idea when 7.62X25 was dirt cheap, but you can now shoot 7.62X54R for the same price. If you must have a lower power round for a Mosin-like rifle, it might be more cost effective to buy a WZ48 .22 trainer.

Re: M1917 or SMLE?

I would forgo food and shelter for a period of time and buy one of each. I would NOT recommend trying to rehab a sporter, as that would not be cost effective and you are already making decisions based on available funds. So, give up lotto, lattes, nachos, women, poker, whatever... and buy a nice 191...

Re: Swedish Ljungman

I bought mine back when they were "overpriced" at $600. HAH! Love the way it shoots and the fishscale grain of the beech stock. I picked up a spare barrel (NOS) and all the moving parts from Springfield Sporters in anticipation of wearing this wearing out before I do.

I think if this happened to me I'd rush out and buy a lotto ticket that same day.

Re: SMLE .22 trainer

What do these go for? My LGS has a MINT Lithgow MkIII SMLE 22LR that looks new, but is $750 asking - yikes! Be aware that the "mint" Lithgow is possibly a JJCo rifle put together from surplus parts. They are very nice looking, but they are not military trainers. My Enfield trainer is dead nuts accu...

Re: dmg4 where are you??

Back now, and happy to see that the forum is once again up and running. If the old content is not restored, I'll get to re-tell all my awful jokes.

That's already happening according to my younger and short-term memory-enabled colleagues.
