Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Spring/Summer 50 yard Milsurp Shoot.

I got out to the range this afternoon. At the end of the session, toward sundown, I got out my 24/47, did a quick sight in, and shot a target. Sadly, after the first mag, I realized the rounds were hitting low. I raised the sight one click (to 200 yards) and that helped some. In any case, here's tod...

The brass was a mix of maker for Ball and blanks. I have not really found a difference in case capacity between the military makers,at least not in the makers I have on hand.
Thanks!

Re: 300 yard match report

Are you using brass from the wooden-bullet surplus blanks for this?

Nice target, Cattus B. And nice rifle. Love the hat!

(Looks like you're still up in the Adirondacks?)

Re: M44 Stock - burn in wrist (oy!)

I feel your pain. I once managed to scorch the stock of a 24/47 with a clamp light and a 60-watt bulb. (Up until then, the process was working fine and pulling lots of cosmoline. It seemed safe. Live and learn). I never did get that scorch mark out completely, but I did manage to remove some or most...

Re: IMR-7383...don't overlook this powder

I'm glad to see this post! I experimented some with 7383 back before the site went down, and had great results with 8x57 and 7.62x54R. Had some fun with 8x56R, too. Other hobbies have been usurping my reloading time lately, but I do plan to do some new tests with 7383 this summer: 7x57 and 175-grain...

Pet loads for 8x56R and m95/30 "stutzen"?

So, anybody got a favorite handload for the m95 stutzen? I've had pretty good results with Varget and Hornady's 205-grain PSPs, but want to broaden my base (and develop a top-shelf round for hog hunts).

Shot this target today for the 50-yard "postal" match, using those fat 154-grainers from Buffalo Arms. Pleased with the result.

Re: Spring/Summer 50 yard Milsurp Shoot.

So, I went to the range today with my Venezuelan Heartbreaker (link: https://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=372 ) and a couple of other 7x57 Mausers. Weather was muggy and 76 degrees. Negligible wind. After finishing the work with the others (testing handloads using 175-grain RNSPs), ...
