Re: Reloading for the K31

I've been reloading for about six years, for several different calibers. I've never annealed brass, but I have a bunch of cases that have been fired six or seven times. They're in the back of the drawer . . . for now. I do often neck size, but stopped doing so for the Swiss rifles after reading on t...

Re: Newbie K31

Nice rifle. If this is your first K31, you may find Pierre St. Marie's article on "accurizing" the K31 useful. I did--even though it took me years to get around to actually trying it out. Immediately wished I'd done it sooner, notwithstanding the fact that my Swiss rifles were already about my most ...

Re: Reloading for the K31

I already owned the old Lachmiller berdan decapper and used it to decap GP11 brass when I acquired my 1st. K31 (had 3 so far). However berdan primers have always been in short supply (most retailers don't stock them and they have to be special ordered). PRVI/PPU boxer brass is available and of exce...

I ended up taking in to the local smith just to find out how long it will take and how much it will cost. It's going to cost $40 and will be done later this week.
That's a good deal. My local guy wanted over $100.

Re: Mauser bolt bending service?

I sent the bolt for my R.FAMAGE pawnshop sporter project to The Boltman (referenced by BobVZ above). His stated minimum turnaround time (in April) was 1-2 months. He's had it almost three, but I'm a patient guy. In any case, the price was very good (between$60 and $75), and the example photos on his...

Re: Swedish m96/38 pawnshop sporter

LCP, I have a suspicion that we are in the sweet spot right now regarding sporters. Sooner or later, people are going to start figuring out that this is a new collecting opportunity, and the prices will start going stupid high. Maybe I'm wrong....

Re: Swedish m96/38 pawnshop sporter

This is a fine rifle that I have tried unsuccessfully to convince Prof to sell to me at a profit...he did let me shoot it though. [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk The question is, are you now scouring the pawnshops looking for a nice sporter like mine? I'm convinced yours is out there so...

Re: 50 Yard Postal Shoot June-July

Cool. Thanks. That SmithSights target post helps a lot. --Prof I definitely agree, after shooting your T-53, that the Smith Sights are helpful. Looks like I'll be spending some more money due to your influence. It's still cool if I blame you when the wife finds out isn't it? [emoji6][emoji106] Sent...

Re: Reloading for the K31

I'm also using PPU (formerly PRVI) cases and have tried the Hornady BTHP Match, which I found interchangeable with the Sierra's. I have tuned my rifle, inserting spacers at the barrel bands and found out it shot still better. I refrain from posting my very best 5-shot group at 100 m because most pe...

I got a few bargains at the gander mountain in Montgomery as they were going out of business, but I sure never saw any Swiss rifles there!

Right?

It does depend in pa on one's location: shipping rates increase with distance....
