Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: 43 Mauser

Actually just ignorant. But thanks, Mark, for the lifeline. And the glimpse into a new world of Mausers to explore. . . . Curious what you used to strip the stock. And are you keeping a photo log of the project? (I've been moving toward fixer-upper sporters lately, and always appreciate seeing what ...

Re: Reloading dies for 7.5 swiss

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I have successfully loaded for my k31s, my g96/11, and my k11, using only the Lee dies.

Re: M1 Garand Loading Question

I'm no expert, but from your description it doesn't immediately strike me that the rifle has a problem. If you use the "knife edge" of your right hand to brace the op rod handle while you push the clip home with your right thumb, you'll protect yourself from Garand Thumb, whether the bolt wants to h...

Beautiful rifle.

Assuming you can obtain or build for yourself some safe ammo . . . range report sometime?

Re: Polytech SKS Hunter Question

Great story about the break.

I'd check with Candyman, on this forum: I expect he'd be able to talk you through the process of repairing that break so that the gun will function--and look almost as good as it did before.

Good luck with the project, if you decide to go that way.

A full-length Steyr M95 in the original chambering. Nice find! If you get a chance to take it out for a spin, let us know how it shoots.

This is what makes this board so great people exchanging ideals and learning from one another, without fear of being chastised for making an erroneous statement. Thank you Rapidrob for the explanation and education without the lashing that you see so often on other boards.

Tips or pointers re: loading Barnes TSX in 30-06?

So, my 30-06 Columbian refurb sporter is finally shooting hunting-quality groups (see thread https://www.surplusrifleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=314&hilit=FAMAGE). Now I want to work up some lead-free loads, just because. The R. FAMAGE shoots best with 150-grain bullets at Garand-friendly velocit...

Re: Rust.

I'm about to order some of this. I'll use it to clean up the metal on my R. FAMAGE pawnshop sporter and (at some point) in refinishing the beechwood stock of a K31 (the gents on the Swiss Rifles dot com forums argue stridently against using steel wool on wood). www.amazon.com/Bronze-Rhodes-American-...

Re: My Yugo M24/47

Nice-looking rifle.

I own a couple of Yugo Mausers. Both are in very nice shape, and both shoot quite well.

Sounds like you got a great deal, too. Congrats, and enjoy.
