Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Schmidt-Rubin 96/11

Swiss Products has a nice clamp-on scope mount that puts a scope above the receiver, offset slightly to the left. I have one on my k11; it works like a champ.

No experience with the Badace. I got the one from Swiss Products. It is excellent.

Re: "Mexican Match" .45 ACP?

As a follow-up . . . Now I'm having a hard time finding 230-grain RNFP jacketed bullets to replace the RN FMJs. Any problems with substituting a 225-grain Coated Cast bullet (FP) in place of the original 230-grain FMJ? Here's a link to the bullet: https://www.grafs.com/dealer/product/569227 For the ...

Re: "Mexican Match" .45 ACP?

Thanks! Would you recommend using one of these, or just applying crimp with the bullet seater die? FOR HANDGUN AMMUNITION THAT MUST WORK carbide factory crimp die [ OPTIONAL ] A carbide sizer sizes the cartridge while it is being crimped so every round will positively chamber freely with factory-lik...

As long as the bullet is the same weight or lighter there will be no problem. Seat to the same length if possiable.
Excellent. Thanks!

Any special considerations relative to crimp?

"Mexican Match" .45 ACP?

So, I've upgraded to a .45 ACP for my backup sidearm for hunting in wild-hog country. However, I'm having a hard time finding 230-grain RN/FP ammo to carry in it. Any thoughts on the possibility of pulling the original RN FMJs and replacing them with flat point bullets? For the record, the weapon is...

Re: powder for 7.5 swiss and 30-06

I use Varget and a 165-grain Sierra GameKing, but have used other powder/bullet combinations. All shoot pretty well.

Re: Spring/Summer 50 yard Milsurp Shoot.

I got out to the range this afternoon. At the end of the session, toward sundown, I got out my 24/47, did a quick sight in, and shot a target. Sadly, after the first mag, I realized the rounds were hitting low. I raised the sight one click (to 200 yards) and that helped some. In any case, here's tod...

The brass was a mix of maker for Ball and blanks. I have not really found a difference in case capacity between the military makers,at least not in the makers I have on hand.
Thanks!

Re: 300 yard match report

Are you using brass from the wooden-bullet surplus blanks for this?
