Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Finally got my first Garand!

I would agree with Steamer that they are a great rifle, and every rifle collector needs at least one. However, there is one area where you CAN go wrong. Ammo selection. Now Gabe, you may know all the following info, in which case I apologize for insulting your intelligence, but not everyone is awar...

Re: Something fishy in K98s

OK now not wishing to cause a rumble here.. But this is a serious question... If these guns are refurbished and If you wanted a perfect gun for a gift or whatever I can almost understand the price better.. there was a lot of work put in them to "fix" them up.. And not work that the average person c...

Isn't the 43 Mauser chambered in 8x57? What am I missing?

99% sure it's 1949 Israeli. A very similarly marked case head , with a 55 where the 49 is, was identified as 1955 Israeli, on another forum.

Re: Real PU scope or fake?

I remember reading that the screws on the top of the towers could help indicate real from fake. Flat screw heads versus round screw heads. Hopefully someone here will remember which type indicated " REAL ". I can't recall which was which or even where I read it.

Re: Want to Find the Right Karabiner 98k

Federal and Remington manufacture 8mm Mauser ammo that is mild (fun) to shoot ,has softer primers ,are non-corrosive, and are surprisingly accurate. The Federal , for me , wins for more accuracy, of the two. Shooting may help the bore shine up also. If you enjoy a more authentic recoil, the Sellior ...

Good idea. I have ordered from them often. The items almost always need a good cleaning but are of fine quality at a GREAT price. Free shipping for orders of $65.00 or more. Very competitive turn around time from order to delivery.

Re: Wz.29 rebuild questions.

One possibility ( what I would do ) is create a G 29/40. If you google that you will see images and a good RIA video. The Germans actually did just that, when they took over the Radom Factory. This would let you use German type replacement parts. The actual German stocks are rare and expensive. The ...

Re: Want to Find the Right Karabiner 98k

I have always loved the old Mauser rifles. I love the history behind them and I have always wanted a decent one of my own. When I was a kid, I hunted with a Sporterized 1938 Mauser with the 243 Mauser AG Borsigwalde receiver stamp. It had belonged to my grandfather and had been converted to shoot 3...

Great looking shotgun. Are they considered safe to shoot with today's ammo? 2 3/4" I mean.
