That's a large ring schematic. '93 is small ring, almost no part exchange. The nomenclature, however, is almost identical.
Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: K-31 Price Check
Insane that these $79 Dunhams specials on Black Friday from about 12 -15 years ago are now going at $475-650 that is because they are not importing K31, so what is here is all there is. as they become more popular demand goes up, and with a limited supply on the secondary market it's natural that t...

Re: NEW Mosin value check.
Saw one for sale at this last weekends gun show. He started at $1000 and had it lowered down to $700 by Sunday. It was quite nice with a correct cleaning rod. I doubt he'll get that much for it , in this area. He's getting closer though.

Re: FR8 QUESTION
Smokey - Yes, Yes, of course what you say is very true, just as you state, and I understand, but...but...everyone does not have the same experience and ‘Fetchens’. As I have said, “When one uses ‘always or never’ in a serious sentence, they will usually be wrong.” An old buddy of mine had this sayi...

Re: 8mm Carcano
If I had one, I would start with the Federal, blue box , 170 gr soft points. Velocity is 2360 fps. It is a very mild load. More accurate then the Remington counter-part. Check the spent case for signs of excess pressure. Then proceed on to other loads.

Re: FR8 QUESTION
Great answer Smokey. Especially in regards to blanket statements about military rifle consistency. OLDGUNNER, the FR8 rifles started life as Spanish Military M 43s . They were very close to K98s in length and appearance. To make the conversion the 8MM Mauser barrels were removed and replaced with sh...

Re: GEW 88 carbine rear sight?
Looks more like an Argentina model 1891 carbine rear sight. Libertytreecollectors has them for sale and it looks just like it. Needs the correct base and lock-down screw. No. Disregard I SAW ONE IDENTICAL TO YOURS AT A COLLECTORS SHOW TODAY. He had it marked as a GEW88 sight as you thought and he ha...

"A gateway jug." Yikes! We in the Midwest take water for granted. I see a rain barrel very rarely around here. A resourceful idea.

Re: Different front sight heights?
J&B weld should not cure to "rubbery" . The quick weld type should still set up 24 hours before being touched. The standard J&B becomes even harder but I let it set ,untouched, for 48 hours. I let the product run down over the sight blade a bit then flip it upside down,so it will hold better. I've u...

I have always thought of this forum as top notch, with almost no trolls in sight. I appreciate it even more when I read these reviews of the other sites. Thanks, all.
