Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

That is a mighty fine example! Original rifles are rare.

Re: AMMUNITION ACCURACY

That totally makes sense now. Great thought ,to keep the variables influencing pressure hikes in mind. Personally I would never load to max, in any situation. Do you think that theoretically one could polish a bore to a point where standard factory loads could be dangerous?

Re: AMMUNITION ACCURACY

Yes that clears up the grit information perfectly. I am reading a sentence between .3 and .4 about rifle weight that looks unconnected to either of those statements. Not super important just thought I'd bring it up.

Re: AMMUNITION ACCURACY

Great information and easy to follow. I am confused however regarding #3. polish the bore. Are we talking about a paste product to hasten land and groove break-in? That last sentence has me totally lost.

Re: Reloading 7.62x54R

Waiting for my EZ X EXP 303 B expander to arrive but took both of my MN to the range today just too see how they shot at 100 yards using some surplus ammo and some Tula ammo. I was sort of happy about the results with about 4" groups from both. Since they are .308 bullets I'm expecting the larger ....

Re: CARL GUSTAFSSTADS GEVARSFAKTORI 1919 w/Elite 101 sights.

Here's a thought from left field. I think that it is not counter bored, but has the typical threaded muzzle with an atypical muzzle cap extending under the sight base. Thoughts?

Great Job. Held my fascination from start to finish. Did you notice a blast and/or recoil difference (between the two), that was worth mentioning ?

Re: M39 help please.

Did you notice the tang date ? Could be an antique and/or rare receiver. Great bargain price for an M39 in that nice condition. Denatured alcohol and paper towel will also work with less damage to original finish. Bores are usually great in these late war M39s.

Re: AMMUNITION ACCURACY

I enjoy sharing the theoretical thoughts on ballistics. Most rifles and almost all milsurp rifles seem to shoot the best with a particular loading ( factory or hand-load ). Two seemingly identical rifles might get their best accuracy with two completely different loads. Interesting points about "Mat...

Re: 52 Izhevsk 91/30 single shot trainer

Looks like its in great condition. Must be rare, because you don't see them on "7.62x54r.net". It "picks-up" the round from a position level with the bolt face? Seems like that would be hard on the extractor.
