Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: I finally have a CZ-75

Shown here are the three different types of magazines I mentioned earlier: Left to right (edit: oops it changed the orientation so from bottom to top:), the CZ "factory Pre-B" 16 round mag (actually made by Mec-Gar I believe), the Mec-Gar 17 round "anti-friction finish" with distinctive blue followe...

Re: I finally have a CZ-75

When I was deciding on a CZ-75, I almost bought one with the rarer phosphate finish. I finally went with the black paint finish, because to me that is part of a CZ-75's "essence." It's one of the idiosyncrasies that make it just a bit different. I have found the finish on mine to be pretty durable, ...

Re: I finally have a CZ-75

Gunbroker seller dwjimports has a really nice selection of CZ-75s and Jericho pistols. Most of his items seem to be Israeli surplus. He has several different varieties of CZs, compacts, etc. He also lists a lot of Hi-Powers, FEGs, Kareens, Sigs and Berettas from Israel. Many of his items ship free, ...

Re: Finally joined the .45 ACP club.

As mentioned above, HST is my go-to choice for defensive ammo in semi-auto pistols. I use it in every caliber except .380, where I prefer the Speer Gold Dot.

Re: Finally joined the .45 ACP club.

No range report yet--I'm hoping to get there Monday. It's a 4.5" barrel. Here it is with my other M&Ps.
P.S. I agree with you on the HSTs. Awesome performing round...

I hope it gives some comfort to those in the U.K. to know that many a "real" SMLE has found a safe home in the states, among friends, where they are truly appreciated...

Re: Finally joined the .45 ACP club.

Hector's thread here convinced me to finally pick up an M&P 45. It's a police trade-in from the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office. Had fun taking it completely down the other night and it cleaned up real nice. I'll add some pics and hopefully a range report soon.

I second Mark's recommendation of a 4" bull-barreled Model 10. I love mine. To me it's the epitome of a service revolver. Here's mine...

Re: Finally joined the .45 ACP club.

Nice pick-up. I'll be looking for a .45 full-size M&P eventually to help round out my collection. I started with an M&P 40 Detroit PD surplus (unissued), then got a .380 Bodyguard, next a 9mm Shield. I plan to next get a 2.0 compact and then a .45. I really like the M&P line!

Re: Remington 1903

My '03 is a Remington, and I have always felt there is sometimes a bit of bias against an '03 "Springfield" that is not marked "Springfield." Maybe I'm just projecting my own feelings on the matter...

My Grandfather's .38 Burgo Derringer

This is an example of a firearm I love completely out of proportion to its value--my maternal grandfather's derringer. When I inherited it, I was told he purchased this for some peace of mind after his community in Dania/Ft. Lauderdale Florida began seeing an uptick in crime many years ago. It's a G...

Re: Ruger classics old and new

I highly recommend the Mark IV, the ease of disassembly is mind-boggling compared to the earlier Marks. Both pistol look very nice... But please elaborate on what makes it easier...??? I like the stag grips also.. Thanks. The Mark IV has a disasssembly button at the rear, that when pressed, allows ...

Re: Ruger classics old and new

The Blackhawk is an early one with a four-digit serial number. I wasn't a fan of the stag grips at first, but they have grown on me!
