Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: where did you spend 4th of July 1976?

I love posts like this! For one, it makes me feel young. I am the old guy where I work, but I wasn't even born in 1976! I really enjoy reading other people's life stories.

Re: Online giveaway rifles

I entered one that was sponsored by one of the auction sites. Started getting all sorts of spam from various "gun" lists that I never (intentionally at least) signed up for. Not doing it again. Oh, and I didn't win anything either.

Re: Century has 7.62x45

Any idea what the price is? Just guessing, but I wouldn't expect anything less than $1 per round. Which given the labor it takes to form cases, isn't bad. Unfortunately, Century doesn't list any dealers near me. I may give my old boss a call and see if he can get any in, then have my parents pick i...

Re: CZ ( VZ ) 50 quality question

I researched replacing the springs in the CZ50 pistol. There is a guy selling a "kit" for a mere 45 bucks that is supposed to really help the trigger pull. I contacted Wolf Springs and found a pair of spring kits that have 50 springs each in them that has several lengths and strengths to fix the pi...

Re: CZ ( VZ ) 50 quality question

I've had one of these for a while, and it is good quality. I did tear it down and smoothed out some of the wear parts, which helped the trigger action a bit. Stout spring, so not much reduction in pull. Not sure if it is something particular to mine, but it does not feed HP's well at all, which make...

Having trouble finding places online that are selling this. Do you have any good links or sources where I could buy it to try?

Re: Odd 5 surplus rifles one should never buy

Meh, it's like all those "list" articles - very short on details, and the reasoning behind the list is weak. I would be much more interested in a real article outlining real reasons, not just "reports" of problems.

Re: Century has 7.62x45

And brass cased too! I may need to get some of this. I have berdan primers for the 7.62x39 (ordered by mistake, I was going for the 7.62x51 primers, and was out of return window when I discovered my mistake), which should work for the x45. Would be much easier than forming cases, if the brass holds ...

Re: Is it worth it?

I got a C&R when I first started getting into collecting. At the time, Midway, Graf's, Brownells, and others would give dealer pricing if you sent in the C&R. I saved the equivalent of the license fee on my first order from Midway for reloading equipment and supplies! Not sure if they are still doin...

Re: Never will I speak ill of the forum members here

I've been around this forum for a long time, though not terribly active the last couple of years. The community is one of the best I've encountered online, and is one that I have no problems wanting to meet other members in person! We can thank Jaime for starting it out right, and the great moderato...

Almost a Virginian!

Hey guys! Haven't posted much for a while, but life's been crazy the last few months. So the short end of it is that I am moving from Colorado to Virginia to finish my Master's degree. Kind of funny, because my family immigrated to Virginia from England in the 1620's, and then moved to Kentucky then...

Re: Found some surplus 8mm.

My experience - I began with some of the case of 50's Yugo pulling bullets, and then reloading the powder, due to considerable variations in powder loads from round to round. The Turk ammo was even worse. When I got a bunch of Egyptian ammo, I started off doing the same, but quickly stopped, as the ...

Re: AMMUNITION ACCURACY

This is where reloading becomes fun. Trying out different bullets, powders, load, velocities, etc., all to get the best accuracy. Develop an 7.92x57 load that is spot on with H4895, then I ask myself, would CFE223 work better? Time to grab a pound of powder and load up! Unfortunately, I don't have t...

Re: VZ-52 SHE

Looks nice. I like the original x45 round, but getting the brass formed is a tedious process! How's your grouping? My barrel is pretty pitted, and after slugging it, found it is .314. The .312 150 Grain bullets meant for the 7.7 Jap work great, and I was able to get a load to shoot 2.5" I figured no...

Re: Mil surp gun shops on the Way to Tulsa

I used to live in Springfield and Joplin, Mo. There used to be a few shops in Springfield that regularly carried mil-surps, but I haven't been there for a while so I don't know if any are still in business or what they may carry now. In Joplin, just a bit off the Interstate, is Steve's Trading Post....
